Chaba Thai Cuisine — Restaurant in Scarborough

I have been going to Chaba for years now and should have written a review long ago but recently their customer service was above and beyond which prompted me to write this now. The food here is consistently delicious. I can highly recommend the pad thai, drunken noodles, crab rangoon, and the fresh rolls. Also the peanut dressing that comes with the salad is soooo good! Once I ordered a pint of it to serve at a party and they were happy to give it to me! A few weeks ago I went in to order some take-out at lunchtime. I was going to take it with me to visit my mom who had been in the hospital for a few weeks. She LOVES Chaba. So I ordered our usual and about 5 minutes after I placed the order I realized I had never specified I wanted the lunch special with a side salad, not the dinner portion. So I told the young man working there I forgot to say I wanted the lunch special that comes with a side, so I would like to order the large salad as well. He said it was no problem, he would put the order in right away and that he wouldn't even charge me for the salad! I was so surprised and grateful, especially with everything going on with my mom, I don't think he realized how much that meant to me! Went with one of my sons. Worked in the food industry for 45 years so i do have a little knowledge of the biz. I will start by says the server and host were very friendly and accommodating, the food was hot and fresh. I love oriental food and Thai is one of my favorite and I will say that the food was some of the best Thai food I've had but next time I would order out instead of eating in the dining room. It's not the nicest place to have meal and if they want to have a killer place they should clean up the floors and redo the interior it just looks rundown and dirty. The crab Rangoon's are the best I've ever had nice and crunchy hot and beautifully designed the filling was was far superior than the normal cream cheese and fake crab that most places give you. and not just slapped together like most restaurants. The shrimp in a blanket were delicious the only problem I had was that the dipping sauces were the same for all of the appetizers we had so it got a little boring but the killer meal was the spicy fried rice, I'm a wimp when it comes to spicy and this had just the perfect space where you could taste the food and had a little bit of heat my son said it could have been spicier for him, that was the best dish that we had. the Lo MeIn pad Thai was also very good. Don’t often leave reviews but LET ME TELL YOU how much I appreciate and love this place! Firstly, it’s some of the greatest thai food I’ve ever had, every dish is fresh and delicious - mild or spicy as you like it. Have ordered countless times with various people and everyone agrees it exceeds satisfactory into heavenly. Take-out is always ready fast and portions are generous in relation to price! Also, the late weeknight hours make it a healthy option after a long work day if you’re feeling too lazy to cook.
