Nice spacious place. Easy for trucks to get into. But not a place to deliver. Worse than Walmart distribution centers. Walmart at least lets drivers check in 1 hour before scheduled appointment time. Some even up to 1.5 hours before. But not this Amazon center. I had 2 deliveries for Amazon in the San Antonio area. One was at 1pm. Showed up at 11:30am and was out of there by 12:00pm. I unloaded 13 pallets myself, got bill signed and off to the 2nd delivery in Shertz 10 miles away. Showed up at Shertz Amazon at 12:15pm, go to check in at the Guard Shack, give them my delivery number and they tell me my appointment is not until 6pm that evening. What?? There was a screw up with delivery times on the broker side. I asked politely if there was any chance to squeeze in there to unload TWO half size pallets. These were driver unload deliveries which would have only taken me about 5-10 minutes to get off. But they turned me away and told me to come back at 6pm. I asked what was the soonest I could check in? They said no sooner than 6pm. So, an entire afternoon was practically wasted and caused cancellation of my reload because they didn’t want to take early delivery of THEIR shipment. I could understand if it was a full truck load or even half a truck load. But 2 small pallets? Seriously? They seem to forget that as a truck driver if the wheels aren’t turning we’re losing precious time and not making money. But who cares right? Sorry so long folks. Just sharing my experience here and trying to save other drivers the frustration if they try to check in early at this...
Read moreIf i could have gotten to this screen with a no star rating, i would have. I am a shift manager at the 7eleven store near one of your distribution centers (schertz, tx) and the behavior of many of the Amazon drivers that stop here to fuel up before returning to end their day is reprehensible. While i understand it is not only the drivers behaving in such a manner, the problem wasn't evident until the distribution center's drivers started coming here en masse. At several different points in the day, all of our gas pump trash cans are overflowing with trash and bottles full of urine. Many bottles full of urine. It is my understanding that the distribution center has quite a large dumpster of its own which i can only assume is the place that has been designated to throw away the excessive amounts of trash collected throughout their shift (including the many bottles of urine). I have managed to locate a phone number for the center, but never manage to get through to anyone. The urine bottles alone are a health hazard and the cleanliness (or lack thereof) of the drivers in question is horrific. I really can't expect anything positive to come from a request for the behavior to stop, but consider this post to be said request, and please get your drivers to stop...
Read moreTerrible experience at this facility (08/19/2025, 5:21 AM). I arrived 45 minutes early with a full Amazon trailer, and the yard guard told me “no dock for you” and forced me to leave and come back later. According to Amazon’s own policy, drivers are allowed to arrive early, yet this guard still made me leave for 45 minutes.
This makes no sense with such a big lot and plenty of space for waiting. Forcing a loaded trailer to leave and come back is unsafe, unprofessional, and a waste of time and fuel. The guard shack staff clearly lack experience and need...
