I am not someone who typically reviews businesses, however, my experience with Lifestyles Hot Tubs was so bad, I felt compelled to share my experience. I was led to this store based on previous reviews, but my experience did not come close.
I purchased a Caldera Makena spa on July 20, 2020. At the time of the purchase, I was told my tub would be delivered in 10 to 12 weeks. My sales rep (Cody) told me they want to "underpromise and overdeliver." Upon purchasing the tub, I requested to get the sub panel sent to me as I had an electrician scheduled to do work at my house. They happily obliged and told me I should have it in a week. I followed up the following week and the request was never put in the system. The new rep indicated he would get it submitted and I would have it soon. Another week and nothing. Upon trying to call to follow up, nobody answered the phone after many repeated attempts over several days. I called another location and was told they had one coming in the following Monday and they would follow up. Again, nobody every contacted me. I decided to let it go and just have the electrician take care of it when the tub arrived.
In mid-September, I decided to follow up regarding the status of my tub delivery. Again, nobody answers the phone. I tried calling multiple locations and still, nobody answers. I finally got through to my rep and he said he would contact the supplier. He never called me back. A few days later, I try to call again and no answer. I left a message and no return call. Feeling helpless, I again begin calling other locations to see if I can get someone to answer the phone. I reach someone at the Fenton location and they tell me they will have the rep call me. He calls and then tells me the tub is coming on "truck 16" and they are on "truck 4" currently. He said they get truck shipments about every 1 1/2 weeks. So, now 10 to 12 weeks just became 7 months. They offered me a similar tub (with no lounger) for the same price. I declined as I wanted a lounger and offered to even purchase a model from a higher line if they had something available sooner. My rep told me he would contact the owner and call me back. He never did!
I try calling a couple days later and nobody answers. I call Ann Arbor, Fenton, Rochester Hills, and finally get someone to answer in Saginaw. I tell my story and she's apologetic and said she would find my paperwork and call me back. Guess what....no call back!
At this point, I just want to cancel my order, but I can't get anyone to answer the phone to even do that. I had to drive to the Rochester Hills store, but the salesperson was unable to do it. He directed me to drive to another location to speak with Brent, who is apparently the manager. Brent cancelled the order without issue, but did not seem the slightest bit interested in my experience.
I understand the demands in hot tubs and supplier delays during the pandemic has created strain in the industry, but the lack of customer service and what appears to be systemic mismanagement and blatant dishonesty is inexcusable. After cancelling my order, I went to The Hot Tub Store and had an AMAZING experience. Run away from Lifestyles Hot Tub Store!!! One...
Read moreWe purchased a Hot Springs Pulse hot tub from Lifestyles in Ann Arbor in August of 2019. The purchase process and the hot tub itself were great. The hot tub was delivered on time and we are very happy with the product. Since then, however, support from Lifestyles has been non-existent.
Because of the hardness of our water, we had a very difficult time getting the water balanced and the salt system working properly. It took weeks of contacting Lifestyles, both the Ann Arbor location and corporate in Fenton, to get anyone to help. While they finally did provide assistance, subsequent requests for help have been ignored.
In addition, within a week of delivery, the back panels on the hot tub began to detach from the frame. We contacted Lifestyles in September of 2019 to submit a warranty claim and have someone come out and fix the issue. We did not hear back from anyone until January 2020, after many attempts to contact via phone/email and in person, and over 5 months after we reported the issue. At that time, we were told the claim was submitted and would be handled in the spring, once the weather warmed up. Obviously, the pandemic hit and changed plans. We understand that completely, and gave the company time to adjust, reopen, and get back to normal business (or at least close to it). Staring in May we began reaching out for an update on our claim. We receive no response, nothing! We finally went into the Ann Arbor location and were told we were bumped back to the top of the list and would hear something within a week. That was over a month ago, and still haven't heard anything.
Bottom line, if you want a good product and sales experience, Lifestyles and Hot Springs are great. If you want someone to stand by their product and provide customer service, go...
