Ok. The store is huge and has all kinds of items. Almost all of the staff is helpful and polite. The hunting is really fun. My problem is the pricing. Its supposed to save you money. I dont know if its one specific lady behind the counter but she asks almost retail prices and comes off as rude. For example I picked out a vcr she priced it at 35 dollars, I was stunned and she said "thats what those go for", took it from me with an attitude and slapped a price tag on it (your welcome i geuss) I went to goodwill the same day and found an almost exact same vcr for ten dollars. I watched her overprice many items in front of me and many people seemed astonished and left without alot of the stuff they picked out. I tried to negotiate on a stuffed animal for 5 dollars off and she said "absolutely not" no counter offer or anything. You are supposed to be able to negotiate but it seems more like she has set prices in mind and thats that. I purposefully got some prices on some shelves from someone else and they were very fair. So its a great place with alot of stuff but honestly if I come in and see her behind the counter I will probably leave and go hunt Goodwill or St Vincent that day.I am an hr away so I probably won't be risking a trip to turn around anytime soon. I had spent 200 dollars there on my previous trip and had two punch cards full. I used one and she basically huffed at me when I presented it. Go have fun hunting, but you will honestly probably not be happy or leaving with much if she is behind the counter. I think she relys on people saying yes to anything because they spent the time to find it and won't want to leave without it. So all in all an enjoyable day out with the spouse and pick up a couple items but don't have your fingers crossed that you will leave with them depending on who's manning...

Now for my review: I have come to the share house for years! I loved this place until the bitter woman at the counter (she told me she was the manager) decided to embarrass me at the register. I was paying over $100 with my phone and asked for just a second while I got signal to finalize the transaction and she rolled her eyes and said “ugh, we’ll tell that to those behind you.” Then I said okay, and found signal on my phone. The woman behind me understood and gave me a chance. Then I asked for a discount card to record my purchase and she said “well do you already have one?” And I said yes but I don’t have it with me. Then she said “no, these are for the rest of the people who don’t have one.” I then asked for the manager and she said “I am.” And I said “great! Now pretend you are providing customer service and please give me a card.” And she said, “No! Im running low on these.” But was real nasty about it. i looked around, thanked her and left.
I’ve seen her before be cruel to others, young and older, but super kind to those she likes. She has never been kind to me and is always over charging me but I have never gotten into it with her because coming here is fun treasure hunting, until now. She is absolutely horrible. After years of coming here I will never ever come back. I only come here because it’s fun! And aside from her, the other employees are great (oh except the other older lady who goes around swearing at her young employees and talking behind their backs).
And yes a fire marshal needs to come by. Because many time I’ve thought about how we would all get out of this place...
Read moreI'm surprised at the comments saying things are over priced and how rude the staff is. I bought 2 heavy, glass vintage lamps for $4 a piece for my home, I've bought vintage paintings, embroidery and prints, vintage brass frames and old porcelain from there, all cheaply priced. I've also bought a working, big screen TV for $40, and so much more. I frequently buy vintage goods from here, then flip it for a profit because they have always been fair. Its not as if the staff is brimming with excitement to see you, but they aren't here to make you feel warm and fuzzy, they are there to cash you out and put away inventory, so I get it. They are strict on closing time, but it's a huge store so of course they need to be a bit forcefull, otherwise people will putter around endlessly in the place. I've never had anyone there be rude, they all just seem very busy. I love going there, it's crazy, & packed with everything under the sun and its always a treasure hunt. Unfortunately not everything is priced, but my boyfriend haggled $10 off our TV from there so it's not unheard of. Just look stuff over, some things are broken, stained or chipped but that's the nature of the game, lots of incoming goods make it hard to go over everything. I only gave 4 stars because of how bitterly cold it is in there. Bring gloves and stay bundled when it's cold out. I've had several uncomfortable trips from how absolutely, miserably cold the basement section gets. The no bathroom thing is a shame too, but just plan accordingly. Pee at a gas station before hand and...
