After five years in Atlanta, I finally made it to Kudzu Antiques. There are some special pieces there, including furniture and decorative pieces, as well as some vintage clothing items. However, the quality of some items, as well as the service was disappointing. I found some of the furniture pieces visibly wobbly. A small closet priced initially at over $300 nearly fell down on me after I tried to open the door. A technician noticed a problem the first time I came in and said he would fix it, but second time around, the same issue occurred. As for service, there are a lot of people working at Kudzu, but the expertise and the sales tactics are really mixed. Having lived all over the world, including Asia and Africa, I found it a little off-putting for an employee who is selling fair trade clothing only to tell me a story of two Western women somehow "discovering" Kenyan design and taking it to America. Another revealing experience was offering one of the employees (Andy) to sell a few very high quality items, including two 100% silk vintage piece and a pair of vintage woven natural slippers. Of the three items, she offered me $6 for one of them (a silk dress) without a blink. That's appalling given that polyester low quality clothes are hanging all over this shop marked up at $30 as the lowest price from what I could see. I have sold my vintage items online and in other shops, and never received such a low-ball offer. All in all, enjoy the experience, but anticipate meeting some pretentious sale attendants and do check your closet before you buy it, it might just fall...

On 5/27/2023 1805 I pick up a lamp from a vendor booth walk up placed it on top of register.I then ask the young if the lamp was 20% off as well because the vendor has a sign on wall 20% off.I was told the lamp is not included in the 20% off.She was then asked to phone owner(of booth)to see if he or she would give me a discount.I also stated I’ve been coming here for 20 years and some time I win and items get discounted and sometimes I lose. The young lady responded in a very rude voice ‘no we don’t do that”.I then paid for lamp at full asking price.I then ask the young lady if she can call her manager up to register. Her response was “NO WE DON’T HAVE A MANAGER HERE AND BY THE WAY IT’’S AFTER 6 O’CLOCK!!!! I walked out of store half way to my car I started thinking how strong my black dollars are.I turn around and walked back into store and ask for a full refund. I will NEVER enter that...
Read morereceived their "staycation" e-mail July 3rd telling about their great sale through July 11th. traveled an hour to the store 4th of July morning to take advantage of such a great offer. a "sale for all the brave souls who stayed in town", and that they "had air conditioning". pull in the drive way at opening time along with 3 other cars. wait 5 minutes, 10 minutes, call the store............. they're closed 4th of July. thought maybe I'd made a mistake, drove an hour back home, looked at the e-mail......... no mention of closed 4th of July. called the charming owner George who basically said "oh, I'm sorry. we have a sign in the window saying we're closed the 4th". when I told him that wasn't good enough, he swore at me and hung up. don't know how these idiots have been in business so long. maybe he should look into another line of work that's not customer related. half a tank of gas...
