We visited the brewery for the first time today and unfortunately were disappointed. It's a nice building, inside and out, but we found the beers we sampled in our flight to be mostly flavorless. The Stout and the IPA were decent, however, with the Stout being the best of the five that we tried. They only recently opened so we wondered if perhaps their mix was off today. Also, although they didn't appear to be very busy, it took longer than it should have for someone to take our order. We sat at the bar and watched several staff walk past us a few times without looking at us. At least make eye contact and say that someone will be with us as soon as possible. The person who took our order was nice and did a good job of explaining the beers to us. The 5 sample flight looked great when they brought it. But as stated, 3 of the beers were lacking in flavor. Although we didn't order food, we sat by the kitchen window and saw the orders coming out. Everything looked delicious and well prepared. They have a nice menu with a number of great sounding items. The chef spoke with us a couple of times and we found her to be very nice. The male bartender, however, may been having a bad day in that he didn't seem too friendly. Fairly business like in his interactions with folks, though he did go through the beers again when he brought the flight. One thing though, when he checked us out he took the cash and asked if we wanted change back. I've never had a bartender do that. I was caught off guard and so I said we didn't need any change back, which left a much bigger tip than the 20% I customarily leave. I believe they should bring the change and let the customer take out the appropriate tip. In general, the staff could have been more animated and look like they're enjoying interacting with the customers, as the chef was doing with us. We want the brewery to do well and hope to come back sometime down the road. We want to enjoy being there but today cut our visit short. Today may have simply been an off day for the beer and...
Read moreI was here on their 1st Anniversary with my family after visiting Three Taverns and wanted to grab a bite and continue sampling local beer. The beer was poured quickly and the staff was knowledgeable, but we all found our flights a little bland with one or two bright spots. Switched to water after the first round. We ordered food which took a little longer than expected because the waiter couldn’t see our tiny number on our table. This was our second time visiting Druid, and we loved the pork rinds, so we ordered them again. Whatever sauce they’re served with which was drizzled over them in Feb was instead in a small cup on the side. Still tasted great, just missing the presentation “wow”. The larger negatives come from preparation in my opinion. The “Cheesesteak” which for some reason includes lettuce, jalapeno, and tomato (aka a Hoagie) was a relatively expensive drippy mess. My brother got the Tostada that wasn’t even toasted/fried. I had to google if serving the tortilla raw was more traditional or something to make sure I wasn’t crazy, but he picked it up and it drooped and folded into basically a taco. I don’t think it’s what any of us expected already a little let down by the beer and decided to leave. We probably ordered the wrong things or needed a menu that broke down what each dish entailed, but the tastes/flavors weren’t bad. (Disclaimer: I try to reserve judgement on brewery food, but when half the menu board is food, it...
Read moreGREAT food! GREAT drinks! Good atmosphere!
There is ample indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor area features both semi enclosed and open air spaces. Semi enclosed space consists of long pic-nick tables. Open air space has a variety of table and seating types. Dog friendly in the outside areas. Good space away from parking for kids to run around, but not necessarily made for kids. Mostly gravel and sort of grassed area. Indoor, there are two levels, but we have never seen the upstairs be open (might be a COVID thing, we discovered LD in 2020). Downstairs is about 72' wide with one main bar that stretches almost the whole width.
The parking lot is small (about 20 cars, not including handicapped spots), but you can park on the street.
The food is to die for! We always get at least two orders of the bacon salt pretzels, and the wings. We have had several other things (flatbread, sandwiches, brussel sprouts, etc) and they are all yummy!
The drinks aren't just beer - which we appreciate. The seltzers and beers are all good! There are a variety of alcohol contents for the drinks. I love that they only offer the higher content alcohols in a smaller pour. We have never seen a scene or anyone be over served. The water is self served.
The bathrooms are CLEAN! Some of the doors are wonky on the stalls in the women's stall - but not to the level you can't use it.
Shout out to the friendly...
