I live 4 miles north of Ider Alabama about a mile off of Highway 75. I was using a phone that used Verizon cell towers and I could not get a good enough signal in my yard to place a call although it worked fine on Highway 75. I decided to try a phone that used AT&T cell towers. I bought my phone from Cricket Wireless about a month-and-a-half ago. With my old phone I could not make a call even with two bars. The new phone from Cricket Wireless was able to make a call even with one bar from inside my house. I believe the difference is because AT&T uses GSM technology and Verizon uses CDMA technology. I'm very pleased with a phone with the service and with a customer service from the people at Cricket Wireless. I would recommend the service to anyone as long as you have good coverage in your area.
