Probably one of the most shocking experiences that I have had in a long time. It took four tries and four rooms before we finally landed. And when we landed it was pretty much a dive. I really try to be straightforward and fair on reviews because every business is struggling right now. But when you see a business throwing away their business you can't help but Wonder if the owners are using this as a loss for write-offs. It's got the perfect location and the woman during the day who's been there for at least 3 or 4 years is a gem. But the rooms and care, including housekeeping, remind me of something out of a bad movie. And something you don't want your mom to sleep on. Speaking of which my mom was 80 years old and we ask for a room on the first floor so we're sent to the handicap room. The door knob was broken and I couldn't get in so I figured if I left the door knob up and slip the card and it would work and it did. When I went inside the lights were on the place smelled like smoke and there was no maid service it was all used as if someone was still living in the room. In short it wasn't cleaned at all. I went back and told the evening receptionist who is too busy sitting on the couch and eating, and told her about the condition and she could care less so she gave me another card for another room. I decided to check that out first before I got my mom out of the car, and she put us in a one bedroom place. Then I went back in and she seemed like she could care less while she continued to eat her taco, and gave me another key. That went to another room that was so smoke filled it was disgusting. So finally on the fourth try which was my last, she sent us to a room that was minimally decent. Lessons learned. Don't think I didn't think it was intentional. But based on her level of interest in her job and the care of her customers, she could care less about even being there. The next morning we went to the on-site breakfast which was amazing and great. And then I decided it was time to speak with someone in charge which there was not, except someone who had been there for a couple of years. She took care of us the best that she could given that we were just on the way out the door. Not having Ada access, is ridiculous. Sending us to dirty rooms is also ridiculous. Definitely a sign of owner absenteeism and neglect. Such a shame cuz it's in a perfect location and it has the potential for being the cutest little place. Just needs a facelift I do not recommend if you have your family along or you're not a fan of dives. Unfortunately, on that trip, we used two Quality Inns and they were the complete opposite of Quality. Will never go to a...
Read moreDONT EVEN CONSIDER IT! We stayed here a few years ago and it was an ok motel. Nothing fancy but had clean rooms with decent furniture. We were staying from march 26-30. We got in late and were exhausted so we got into the room and the stench would knock you down. It smelled horrible, but we were ao tired we went on to bed. The bed literally had a giant hole in it, you couldn't even sleep comfortably, I mean not at all. The smell never got any better, like how some smells after a while you just get used to it. Not this one! So we went to the front desk and asked to speak to a manager, she wasn't there. So they said there's nothing they could do. We were on a fishing trip so we weren't in the room often other than the evening and sleeping, until we left in the morning. We switched sides and my husband can sleep on anything and he couldn't even sleep in this awful bed. So we went back to the front desk. Still no manager, they said she's only there between 8-12 M-F but even during those times she still wasn't there. So they said we could switch rooms even though we didn't want to pack all of our fishing gear clothes etc we did anyway because this room was horrible. They switched us to the room beside the one we were in, it was 2 double beds they were better and the room didn't stink so whatever. We got up the next morning and I sat down to pee and there was a friggin BED BUG crawling on the wall. We immediately get our clothes and loaded our belongings. I put the nasty bed bug in a zip lock and took it to the front desk. Yet again, no manager but the lady instantly knew it was a bed bug I told her we were absolutely fed up with all the issues we had and were leaving a day early. Overall the room was dirty you'll see the photos. There was no battery in the fire detector which is a huge hazard. The furniture was disgusting, and the smell. I just can't. Then bed bugs on top of it. Just don't even stop here. Motel 6 is cheaper and waaaay cleaner. We go to scottsboro yearly for fishing. Motel 6 or comfort inn. Period also I've called every single day to speak to the manager and she is never there and has yet to call me back. That's even more frustrating, she's literally avoiding me, and the frustration is real, we had to throw away so many things. We were out hundreds of dollars because I wasn't risking bring bed bugs home. But the manager should absolutely be FIRED! I get crap happens but to never be there and avoid a customer is...
Read moreSo far we've only been here one night. We had been staying at the Comfort Inn & Suites since June 25th when our house burned. Due to some sort of oversight by our insurance and overbooking by the management at Comfort Inn, we are informed on Wednesday that we have to check out on Friday morning and then check in here. We were assured they had rooms for all 4 of us and there would be a suite and the kids would be in an adjoining room, etc. No problem. Well, due to hurricane Irma, they only had one room open when we got here with 2 truckloads of stuff. Its It's not a suite and much smaller than our other room. The hotel was double booked but they finally found a second room for us....two doors down the hall and also smaller. However, despite losing square footage, we gained a lot in rooms that are more recently updated, newer beds and pillows, nicer showerheads, and cleanliness. I am unhappy that there is no on-site guest laundry facility more than anything else. The pool is small and outdoors with no trees or even a patio umbrella to provide any shade. The breakfast/dining area is small but appeared mostly clean this morning although I never saw anyone attending to restocking or rotating any of the hot food items that were set out. The place is closer to the main road as well as an exit ramp that is heavily traveled and there are nearby neighbors all around. This makes a somewhat noticeable difference in noise and temperature levels while outdoors. However, it isn't appreciably noticeable or bothersome while in the room. And so, with so little time spent here yet, I haven't been totally impressed but neither have I been disappointed enough to request an alternative. For the average traveler that's only looking at a night or weekend stay, you could do a whole lot worse than booking here and probably pay about...
