This will be a long review. Buckle up. A few months ago, I was in quite a pickle. I had an event three days away, a gown that didn’t fit, and a modest budget.

I did not need a "perfect" dress - I just needed a gown that fit my body and style well enough for one night.

I spent a day running around Phoenix, trying to find something to wear. I visited department stores, but the options were limited and expensive. I had no desire to spend $400+ for this one-time event. I visited thrift stores, but none had anything appropriate for my event. I did not want to order a low-quality dress online, risking a late arrival and a bad fit. (I am all for ballin' on a budget but a $50 dress from Amazon looks like a $50 dress from Amazon).

By the time I called Jenny’s Dresses, I was desperate. The event was two days away. Nadine offered to fit me into her schedule the same day.

Walking into the store reminded me of visiting the "Camp: Notes on Fashion" exhibit at the Met. I love it! The decor is delightfully over the top and glitzy. It reminded me fondly of glamorous fashion magazines and playing dress up. I remember thinking about how I wished I'd had a place like Jenny's around when I shopped for my high school prom.

Jenny's has so many lovely and unique pieces. Nadine walked me through the collection. She selected gowns for me, paying close attention to my preferences and requests. I also was allowed to peruse the racks myself. Some of the dresses were marked with measurements along with the size, which I appreciated. Nadine helped me get into the gowns and offered feedback about each one I tried on. We ended up finding two gorgeous dresses that fit me beautifully. From them, I chose a floor-length teal gown. I wore it to my event and received so many compliments.

A little example of the service at Jenny's Dresses: I noticed a very small spot on the gown I chose. Nadine offered to take it to the cleaners for me right away. It was ready for me to pick up the next day.

Jenny's Dresses helped me out when I was in a bind. In the grand scheme of things, it was just one night and one dress. To this reviewer, it meant a whole lot more. When I returned the dress, Nadine and Jenny remembered me. They were warm and gracious. The store is a labor of love, and it shows.

This year for my husband's work event, I decided I would rent a dress rather than buy as I gained some weight and I didn't want to figure out my size and buy online and blah blah blah. I did a quick "formal dress rental places near me" search and Jenny's popped up with great reviews. I called and left a message that I was just looking for a formal dress and got a call back a couple hours later, so awesome! Jenny, the owner, scheduled me within a few days too! Fast forward to appointment day, we walked in together and her shop is just the cutest. For someone who isn't very "girly", I admired her style. While filling out my form, she asked a couple questions about what my likes and dislikes were. From there, she pulled out the 1st dress. I looked at it and was like, that is not going to fit me. I explained how insecure I was about my body and she was so genuine about how every body is different and there is a dress for every BODY. I shimmied into this dress and it didn't look half bad on me, Jenny definitely has an eye for things fitting and how to compliment the body. I tried on 4 more dresses and shared what I did and didn't like. She then goes, I think I have the perfect dress for you! Sure enough, I walked away with THAT dress
