Giving a 1 star rating because when I took an avalanche awareness class here a couple weeks ago the staff was great and I was quite impressed.
After that experience I decided to make a purchase. The item I wanted showed as in-stock; however, I decided to confirm inventory before heading to the store. I was informed that the item I wanted was in their warehouse and was encouraged to purchase the item on-line as it would ship within two days. I made the purchase, three days passed with no shipping confirmation, so I called and left a message on the number listed on their website for online orders. Two more days passed with no response, so I called the store and talked to an employee. The employee told me that a shipping label had been created a few days earlier and that Ascent had "fulfilled my order". By this time I had received a shipping confirmation email that stated a label had been created a few days earlier, but the package had not been received by the USPS. I provided this information and the employee reiterated that Ascent had fulfilled the order and proceeded to speculate about why the order had not been received by the carrier. Realizing the employee was not able to provide any useful information I got off the phone with them and left another message on their online order hotline. It has been a week since I placed my order with two-day shipping, I have no idea where my item is, no idea when or if it will arrive and have not received a callback to date. I hope the order arrives, but looking like I may have make a credit card claim.
If your close by it may be worth stopping in their showroom; however, I highly recommend against placing an online order...
ย ย ย Read moreI was sent to this company because I was in need of 2 splitboard setups with hard boots. I was recommended to this place. I knew this was an odd thing to order, and I wanted to be sure I was ordering the correct product. I emailed their online support to verify that they could do this for me, and I was assured, "No problem." After having some issues with the online ordering, I again emailed the support center and thought I had it sorted. These boards were ordered a month in advance for a guided trip up a mountain. The trip itself was also very expensive, so I wanted to make sure the gear I was renting would be exactly what I ordered. I was also coming from Canada, so I was coming from quite a distance and would not be able to just go home and get my gear. When I went to pick up the gear, I was shown a splitboard set up with just the board, bindings, and skins. I asked where the boots were, and the store clerk said they didn't rent boots. I then showed him the email stating that I had a conversation with someone from the company and that the boots were ordered, and he said, " Well, our online store is just randoms and they're not knowledgeable. You should've called" I then explained the situation and that I'm going on a very expensive trip the next day, and I need the hard boots with splitboards. He then said he could rent me ski boots and tried to strap a ski boot into the snowboard binding. Totally enept and incompetent. Ended up missing our trip that was planned 6 months in advance because of this. The store didn't care what so ever, I returned the boards and traveled...

I purchased my first ever split board in the fall of last year. Only used it twice (Snoqualmie ski resort few weeks ago and a touring intro class at pineapple basin today) and part of the binding broke. I literally drove that afternoon to the store from the mountain to see if they can order me new bindings cause I needed it for a trip next weekend. I talked to the manager, Brandon that I wanted to even rent one or buy a new one, but they didnโt have my size/it was already rented out. They wouldnโt also have the binding in stock/ordered in time. Brandon hooked me up with new bindings that afternoon, even put it on for me, and checked my skins that they fit, all with a busy store and done in 30 mins! He was so kind and understanding of my situation. I also ending up buying an alpine harness and more climbing gear. I canโt thank Brandon enough for this hospitality today!!!! ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ please buy him lunch! Thank you thank you thank you, Brandon! YOU made my day cause touring today was not fun and I was second guessing my new sport. But now w my board fixed Iโm excited to try it out next weekend!
PS I have also gotten all my outdoor boots from the store and each time the staff are sooo amazing! Another staff member also recommended a touring pack and itโs now my fave pack!
Everyone is so awesome! I always recommend you guys to anyone looking to go into the outdoors. Keep up the amazing...
