One of the items I placed on our loose itinerary included simply, "a coffee shop". As out-of-towners visiting Seattle for the first time, it felt like the thing to do. But on our way to a hike that became a 1,200-ft ascent, the next-door Coffeemind didn't provide the sustenance we needed. Tenth West became the benefactor, as we stumbled in to the humble café that simply appeared to serve food. Serve they did. Contributing 5 of the 6 total patrons in the shop on a Friday morning, we were at the beck and call of the friendly staff. The same friendly staff that not only allowed, but suggested I traverse back to the adjacent coffee shop to satisfy my Chai Latte fix (Tenth West offered coffee, but I am not too keen on the mud). The quaint building offered a homey vibe, even appeared to have a small market of miscellaneous grocery items available. Subsequently, it churned out hefty portions of breakfast and lunch fare, including the pictured turkey pesto sandwich. For a moment, I felt transported to an alternate universe where I grew up in a charming town in which my mother made incredibly delightful sandwiches (with respect to Mom). 5 stars I didn't expect to be giving out!

Was looking for a decent breakfast sandwich place and decided to try this place out. I ordered for takeout and by the time I got home, I found out half my order was wrong. The breakfast bagel was fine, but I ordered a curried chicken sandwich for my brother and got a ham sandwich instead. I requested a side of eggs, but some kind of nut coffee cake instead. The sandwich was really plain and the tomato soup was a bit sour as well. I was the only one ordering for takeout that time, so I'm not sure how they could have gotten my order mixed up unless the guy taking my order had really bad handwriting and the cook couldn't tell. The guy even came back to me to mention that they ran out of bread for the specific sandwich I ordered, so he asked if it was ok for a different bread for the same chicken sandwich. The breakfast bagel was fine, but everything else was very lacking. Guess you should always double check your order when taking out. :/

I was reluctant to go here because of the negative reviews about one of the employees but I have it a try and I’m glad I did. I went on a Saturday around 11:00. There was a lady and a guy working. They were both very friendly. The guy was my server and he was great!! I ordered the special and they even accommodated my subscription!! The food was so good and the coffee was delicious as well! I’ll be back. The only negative feedback I have is that they need to improve the ac situation because it was way too hot to sit inside today!

I am writing to bring to your attention an unfortunate experience I had at your restaurant during a visit this morning.

I ordered breakfast with a few modifications, including adding avocado and tomato to my sandwich and cheese to my salad. While I briefly stepped away, I overheard the waitress (an older woman with short blonde hair and black glasses) speaking with attitude and making disparaging remarks about me to my date, calling me “high maintenance” in a rude and unprofessional way. I had been smiling, bubbly, and genuinely happy while she took my order, so her behavior felt unnecessarily harsh and mean-spirited.

This comment was both inappropriate and disrespectful. I requested to speak with a manager to address the situation. However, she came rushing towards me abruptly, stating she intended to “handle” the matter. While she claimed it was intended as a joke, she was aggressive and confrontational, which compounded my discomfort rather than alleviating it.

I share this feedback with the hope that it will be taken seriously and that steps can be taken to ensure all guests are treated with respect and professionalism. I ended up staying, but felt uncomfortable. This incident ended up making my date really awkward and ruining my day. I hope this woman recognizes that her actions have a real impact on others and chooses kindness over negativity moving forward. We will not be returning to...

I’ve been coming here every so often for about 3 years. I used to be obsessed and would bring everyone here. I’ve been working in the food And bev industry in Seattle for 5 years and think I have a pretty good grasp on how things are run.... I recently went on Sunday afternoon and it was the worst service I have ever experienced. Of course the food was delicious (portions got smaller as well, which I understand) but the service that is givin here isn’t even up to par with fast food places. A young lady asked us what we’d like to drink and then never came back with them. One of the owners took our food order shortly after with no enthusiasm or personality. Then it took about 15 mins of me trying to flag someone down for drinks. And we waited for about 45 mins for egg scrambles..... We finished our plates and the young lady who forgot our drinks and apparently our table completely asked if we were ready for the check....after we had already paid the other waitress/owner. I’m a bit put off by this vibe as it’s not comfortable or accommodating even in the slightest. They are not personable people who care about vibe and service as much as the quality of the food. As much as I love the food here- I won’t be returning anytime soon. Y’all have...

Underwhelming and not worth the time to visit. Dont be deceived by the good reviews and photos here. Service and food leave so much to be desired. Tables that were seated after us and ordered after us received their food before us and significantly faster. We ordered 2 sandwiches, so nothing time consuming. It took 25-30 minutes to get our food. While we were waiting, the wait staff walked past with water, but never gave us more after we'd run out. I went to the little island with pitchers to get water myself, and half of the glasses were clearly dirty and mixed in among clean glasses. So gross! When we finally did get the food, it was not satisfying. The muffin and bagel sandwiches weren't toasted and already getting soggy. 25 minutes to make sandwiches, and you couldn't find the time to toast the bread?? The flavor of the bagel on the tarzan everything was bland, even with all the seeds on it... Might as well have just gotten the english muffin version and saved the calories. And to top it all off, the sink in the bathroom only produces a pathetic dribble of water. It is very difficult to wash your hands. Overall, not impressed or satisfied with the food, service,...
