I am 78 yrs old and started Jazzercise in my late 20s with Judy Sheppard, wearing leotards and leg warmers. I continued throughout my life, when I was working full time, when I was pregnant, raising kids, and now in retirement, when my daughter joined me. Jazzercise has developed over time from a basic dance class to a full fitness program that includes strength and weights. The magic of Jazzercise is its fun and flexibility. You can be young or older, go from a couple of days a week to daily, do high impact or low impact, light or heavy weights. Unlike other programs, the teachers are very well trained, have to test regularly, and the choreography is fun, and uses the best music and the latest in fitness knowledge and techniques. And last but not least, the people are so welcoming, the atmosphere so positive and uplifting that I look forward to every class and miss it even when I'm vacationing in Maui! And now, no excuse, I can do it online...
Read moreJazzercise has completely changed the way I think about fitness! It’s energetic, empowering, and just so much fun. What makes it even better is that my mom comes with me — and she loves it just as much as I do. It’s one of the few workouts we can do together that challenges us both and still makes us smile the whole way through.
The routines combine dance, cardio, and strength in a way that keeps you moving and motivated, with music that makes you want to dance even when you're sweating. I love all the Seattle instructors; they are all super welcoming and always offer modifications, so it works for any fitness level or age.
It’s more than a workout — it’s a community. I call everyone my Jazzer-friends. We always leave class feeling stronger, happier, and more connected. Highly recommend Jazzercise to anyone looking for a fun, uplifting way to stay active — especially if you want to bring your...
Read moreI have been jazzercising for decades. The program is amazing with focus on building strength, cardiac endurance and flexibility. The music makes it fun, the instructors are upbeat and positive, and they change their sets almost every class so that one is never bored doing the same thing over and over. Instructors also choose between formats - so there are classes that will focus on strength and others that focus on cardiac and you know in advance what you are signing up for. On a personal note: I realized that I was getting weaker with age when I went to the Seattle REI and couldn’t open the doors by myself because they are so heavy. I was determined to get stronger to change that. The last time I went to REI I realized that I met my goal…it didn’t even take excessive effort!! Hurray and thank you to Jazzercise. It is an amazing overall fitness program. Come dance and...
