It had been a while since I had done a mani/pedi and my big feet were quite a task. So, I knew it would take a bit longer than normal. However, 5 things went wrong.
The woman working on my feet took nearly 90 minutes and forgot to paint my nails.
After she was done, I was supposed to get a manicure, but the woman doing that noticed the previous gal did not do a great job and started working on my feet again. She really dug into the sides of my toenails aggressively. In fact, I had problems walking for a few days because of how aggressive she was. A week later and my foot is still red.
After working on my feet for a second time, she then went to my manicure. While she was clipping my nails she looked away and missed a full clip resulting in her yanking skin away with the nail that led to bleeding. A week later and my finger is still rather sensitive.
The whole thing took over 2 hours while my partner only took maybe an hour.
The women there were making comments to eachother that sure seemed like they were either making fun of the gal who was first working on me, or straight up about me. Either way, it did not seem very professional. However, because of language/culture barrier, and i cannot difinitely say what they were talking about, I am willing to look past this one a bit.
Ultimately my hands and feet look good. However, this was not my first time in a nail salon and I know both my hands and feet have been in worse condition. We also paid for the premium treatment and it certainly did not feel like that.
Maybe what I experienced was a fluke, but to have two different employees screw up and have it take double the time of my partner who had the same procedure was unacceptable. Which is really a bummer because I live really close and everyone in the salon was talking about how they've been going here for a decade. Guess I'll just keep looking for...

Prior to arriving, I shaped my own nails because after months of trying to get them to grow longer and be stronger to avoid breaking, I wanted to be sure the shape was perfect (short stilettos).
Went in around opening time for a shellac nail, all black except with Pride flag themes on the middle fingers. The paint job for the flags was messy and the black nails were a bit soft, with one of the thumbs being very soft and bubbled. Had to go to a work function, so I didn’t have time for them to be fixed, and the gal had tried to get it right, so I felt bad about asking her to take it off.
By the end of the day, the polish still hadn’t tried and was soft, and the striped nails were really unacceptable, so I went back to have the three bad nails corrected.
A different person removed the polish and then proceeded to SHORTEN and ROUND my thumbnail because that’s what she thought was best. Did not ask me. That’s not even what I had returned for. Remember, I spent my morning getting the shape exactly how I wanted it, after months of rehabbing and growing my nails after damage from acrylics. All that progress gone, and now I have a stubby mismatched nail.
Pretty frustrated and upset overall. I wasted my time and my money — could have done a better job at home, or with a friend’s help — but I didn’t have the heart to request a refund. I definitely won’t be back though.
Update: the thumb I had redone came off this morning. Basically the polish was too thick to dry properly, from what I can tell. I have other nails that...
Read moreI went to Lavish Nails before my vacation and asked for yellow gel nails. I had booked the appointment a week in advance and had to sit there for 25 minutes. The woman that did my hands (unsure of her name, but she had a van cleef bracelet and wore multiple other designer bracelets) must have been new because she kept messing up and using HER OWN nails to clean it up around 3x, digging her nails into the sides of my nails and causing pain. The polish was all over the sides of my skin and it looked as if a 10 year old had done them. I brought it up to the front desk and they sent me back to the same woman that made me STAND and she peeled away the first layer of gel to just lazily re apply a new coat with an attitude. I didn’t realize until I left for my vacation but my thumb nail was incredibly uneven to the point of there being a bump on my nail if you were to run your finger over it. It stood out compared to the rest of my nails and was uncomfortable to have. I finally took off the gel today (3 weeks later) and found that the “bump” on my nail was actually WET CLUMPY GEL that she had not let dry in between coats. So in between the first and last layer was wet clumpy gel she did not let dry for long enough. Her work was bad and her attitude when I brought up what needed to be fixed was even worse. I left the next morning for vacation and was incredibly disappointed. I was visiting Seattle and thought the good reviews would speak for the work. Will not be recommending this place...
