El Centro de la Raza (The Center of People of All Races) — Attraction in Seattle

I want to share my experience about a daycare that I attended from the ages of 1 to 13. While the school was bilingual, small, and kind, my experience with some of the staff and teachers was not great. I think it's important to note that my perspective may be different from my parents' perspective. I felt that some of the teachers were highly disrespectful and inappropriate towards the children. They called me out of my name multiple times and physically grabbed me, holding me down. I remember one time when a child broke my toy, and the teachers told my parents to bring less expensive toys to class. Additionally, on one occasion, I was left behind during morning drop-off, and when the teacher returned, she blamed me for it. As a 7-year-old, I was not responsible for making sure all the kids got picked up. I wrote an e-mail to president Estela Ortega and resend it again and never got an answer. Not even to say "your e-mail is important to us, we will answer soon." I also sent several e-mails to other departments as grants, events, culture, etc and same result no one answered. Never even heard of this place until a co worker told me about it. I decided to stop by on a day I had off from work to see about a lending circle. The people were friendly, and when I got there the lady who helps with them had just taken someone back tonjer office. I was given info and was told someone would call me. I thought to myself probably not! But at least they gave me info and I couldn't be too upset because I didnt have an appt. Within a couple hours I got a call back and not only was the lady helpful with info she was polite on the phone as well.
