I received an incorrect minifigure; which is fine, I get errors occur. The one star is specifically for Cathy/Kathy. She was very rude and impolite on the phone when I was reaching out about MY order being incorrect... Buyer beware: if your order is incorrect expect nasty customer service.
Edit: Since you've replied- I understand you have 3rd party seller customer service restraints when it comes to contacting customers. The entire reason I called you guys directly at the shop is because my ELDERLY grandmother is the Amazon account holder and she didn't know how to respond to you through Amazon quickly. Since I had multiple other Lego minifigures bought/pending from you guys to be sent to me, I wanted to give a courtesy call to tell Kathy that she could relay to Tom that he could pack all the minifigures in one box/order. I was very kind and trying to explain my situation. This is when Kathy got very rude and snarky saying "Well, we're running a business here! and we have to keep paper trails!" Again, I understand the communication restraints but when I'm trying to let you know my sistuation and I'm met with immediate hostility that's when I'm going to say something. I understand the original mixup and it's totally fine. Mistakes happen. The one star was for Kathy's nasty tone of voice. Fix your attitude Kathy and maybe you wouldn't get these types of reviews! And I HAVE and WILL find better luck with other sellers in the...
Read moreTo borrow my kiddo's expression, "oh my gosh!" Why, in nine years I've been in Seattle, I haven't stepped inside this wonderful store?!
Math 'n' Stuff is more than a toy store. I would describe it as a mash up of Third Place and Snapdoodle for kids up to middle school with its collection of toys, puzzles, activity/workbooks, Legos, Gravitrax, Snap Circuits, board games to Pokemon cards and science items (pH test strips anyone?). There's a half wall of jigsaw puzzles for the adults and board games galore.
As a parent of an elementary grade schooler, I love that the store has racks and racks of workbooks to supplement class learning. Parents who home school will love the materials the store has for sale.
Prices are reasonable and competitive vs online stores and big box retailers. They have a reward system for repeat customers (which you will be for sure, so sign up) and appreciate cash payments though you can pay with card or check.
Owner kindly asks patrons to mask up and have free masks by the door if you forgot yours as well as a hand sanitizer.
The store's facade is kinda nondescript with no visible sign outside that you may miss it if new to the area. Your landmark is the Maple Leaf Ace Hardware which is directly to the north across the street from the store. Very small parking lot but just a short walk away from Metro bus 67 stop if you commute instead.
Make Math 'n' Stuff your first shopping stop....
Read moreMath ‘N Stuff is a fantastic store that I have had the pleasure of going to for the past 20+ years. Their customer service has me driving from the east side (passing multiple stores I could purchase from on the way) because I prefer to support this family LGS that has been great to me, my family, and friends over the years. Board Games: Every worker in the store is highly knowledgeable about games and you can have a conversation about what you are looking for and what you have liked in the past and they will give you a list of all the games that you might like. Have loved every game I have purchased. Magic Tournaments: Before I entered “adulthood” I would attend every Friday Night Magic and Prerelease this store had. Great family and beginner friendly setting for Magic: The Gathering tournaments. They often do “learn to play” events. Prize structure geared towards inclusiveness and making sure everyone gets something. Lorcana: Attended a “learn to play” prerelease with some friends and had an outstanding time. The staff thoroughly explained the rules of the game, how the event would work, and was available to help with rules questions and friendly banter throughout the event. They were very transparent about how much product they had and might be getting (this was when it was sold out everywhere) and were very good about making sure as many people got product as possible. 10/10 would and...
