Nikki and her apprentice Taylor are the kindest and most talented lash professionals you will ever find. Nikki's students are incredibly well taught by Nikki herself. She plays great music, the beds are comfortable and the products Nikki has carefully selected to sell in her salon compliment the lash extensions. I was never pushed towards buying the products there. When they teach you how to care for your lashes, no oil-based makeup remover!, they show you what they trust to work and there's no pressure to buy. And if you do choose to purchase a product the prices are fair for the product you get. The herbal eye and lip makeup remover works wonders and spares your lashes from falling off prematurely. Nikki has the sweetest salon/spa on California Ave. Most of the time, if not all of the time, there are special prices for new clients, discounts for scheduling fills 2+ weeks in advance and the hours they work are incredibly accommodating. I'm going in at 7PM on a Tuesday evening so a late work night is no excuse to miss out on a relaxing hour or so laying down with your eyes closed while they work their magic. And last but NOT least the outcome is gorgeous! I get at least one compliment a day or more on how great my lashes look and I name drop Nikki's salon on a daily basis to those who ask. No more mascara needed, brush them out and you can truly say...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is a review for an eyelash perm and tint I had on 4AUG2018 that resulted in chemical burns on both the inside and outside of my lids (confirmed to be burns and not an allergic reaction by an eye doctor),. No timers were used, several other lash treatments were being done at the same time by the same operator. The perming solution was left on a lot longer then it should have been. this caused the burns. It also caused my lashes to lay flat against my eyelid in an unnatural position (still 4 weeks later) They were bent-not curled. They were messily laid out, tangled and over permed. Two days after the procedure I called Nikki and described this problem. She told me to come back in and she would 'neutralize' the curl. This procedure only hurt like heck. No change in lash bend. Any hair professional will tell you the only way to change a bad shape or curl is to reperm. Adding more neutralizer at this point did nothing but traumatize the burning tissues. I asked for my money back. It was refused. I have reported this hack to the Department of Health. Who knew lash places are not regulated. Go somewhere else. ...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had volume lash extensions applied on December 27, 2018 the day before I left for a trip to Paris. Last year I had lash extensions for about 4 months before I developed an allergic reaction, so the technician used the sensitive glue and I was advised to take allergy medicine for a few days. My lashes looked lovely! Upon landing I realized that I was having an allergic reaction on both eyes, I loaded up on allergy medicine and applied ice cubes to my lids to reduce swelling. On Monday the 31st I was able to get an appointment in Paris to have my lash extensions removed. The first quest the salon asked me is where I had gotten my lashes done at a reputable salon, the lashes were applied incorrectly - the glue was applied directly to my skin as opposed to the recommended 1-2 mm away from the skin on the lash. Further, on my left eye there was a clump of glue and 6 lashes as removing this clump did cause damage to my eyelid the woman that removed my lashes showed me the clump of glue and lashes before and...
