Horrifically designed station in every way possible. I don't know how one could design a more inconvenient station for transit passengers. Super deep station; requires taking 4 separate banks of escalators to get to the platform which are more often than not broken thereby preventing passengers from getting to the platform. The station has even had to shut down at times because one couldn't get to the platform due to all the escalators and elevators being broken with no backup stairs until they literally had to retrofit this failed station design a few years after opening by converting the emergency-use stairs into regular-use stairs (which are still of little use). Gimmicky dated aesthetic design is most successful part of the station and the terrible station location requires allowing at least 8 minutes to transfer between the platform and all the buses including needing to cross two wide busy streets at-grade, only to then see your connecting bus/train departing before you make it. This station should be filled in with dirt and relocated somewhere that would better serve UW and...
Read moreFast commute once you get to the Train Station. There is no bathroom which sucks for people with small bladders and there are no stores are shops near by that you can pop into. Rude people shoving past you on the small escalators trying to make the train only to realize the train hasn't showed up yet and they were aggressive for no reason. Trying to find a seat might be challenging since the people standing tend to block all the empty seats. If you are in a hurry to catch your train forget about it and catch the next one. It take three escalators to get down the the platform. Hopefully the escalators are all working. I had to go down several flights of stairs one day because the elevator was broken. If I wasn't poor and downtown Bellevue didn't charge for parking I would commute to work. I save no time weather I am commuting on the train and a bus or driving. The one good thing is I...
Read moreOkay whoever designed the exterior deserves praise, but the interior is a nightmare. Outside is a lovely Transit oriented oasis in a stadium parking lot nightmare. Bike racks, hurrah! Low inclined ramp to the station, hurrah! Beautifully melding concrete pathway and green space easily navigated by pedestrian or bike... Yes. But the inside... Escalators are always broken, it takes a full 5 minutes walking to get to the platform down like 3 flights of stairs. Pretty bland interior with very little signage. Not friendly to out of towners. This urbanist gives the exterior a 5/5 but the...
