University of Washington - Department of Biology Greenhouse — Local services in Seattle

Friendly staff, large and interesting collections of tropical plants and cacti/succulents. The remodeled greenhouse is much nicer than the old one, individual exhibits are cleaner, more organized, clearly labeled, easy to navigate... My only complaint is that the greenhouse is only open to the public once a week for four hours. I wish they expanded public access a little bit, but I understand there is work to be done, classes to be taught. Great place to visit, don't miss it if you're on the UW campus...

This is a nice little green house within the university. It is open from 12-4pm on Wednesdays for public. I visited here with friends in late Autumn, and four of the rooms were open. There were a collection of cacti and other dessert plants, and other tropical plants, mostly ferns. A respite from a busy day of work. Will check this out...

Very well organized. Went thru the greenhouses today on a decent led tour. You can come back on Thursday (check hours) to go thru on your own. We went thru semi tropical, tropical, and desert areas. Learned that cacti are only native to N. And S. America others that look like them from other areas...
