I'm writing this review on behalf of my wife. Unfortunately, based on her experience I would not recommend this business due to poor quality service. This is for the Vasuda Salon in the Pinehurst area of Seattle.
My wife had hair extensions done with Ariana Lopez for our wedding a few months ago. She was charged $200 (plus gave a generous tip) for only a partial head of extensions (bottom half). However, I can't believe the salon let my wife walk out of that place looking like she did (basically, the extensions were installed unevenly along the bottom of her head and therefore looked unblended with the top of her head...as a consequence the extensions looked very jarring on my wife because they did not match the rest of her hair...that is, short hair on the top, but abruptly long hair on the bottom...imagine a bad haircut version of Dee Snider from Twisted Sister...that's how horrible it was).
The expectation was that Ariana, as a professional hairstylist, should have been able to manage and make it work better instead of half-hearted attempts, especially for the amount of money my wife paid. However, that was not the case, hence the disappointment and dissatisfaction. My wife called back the same day and Ariana agreed to rectify the situation by removing the extensions and promising to reverse some of the charge. The conversation was also very unprofessional since Ariana promised to call back my wife, but never did. My wife had to reach out again to follow up for the next day. It felt like my wife was just getting the runaround. However, despite undoing the horrible mess of extensions, Ariana never reversed the charge.
What made matters worse is that the shift manager told us that Ariana is an independent stylist and so the salon does not have have the ability to provide a refund. And so, really, it is up to Ariana to give the refund for unsatisfactory work and for services that were ultimately reversed/unrendered (i.e., she still made my wife pay for shoddy extension work that was, in the end, uninstalled by Ariana).
Furthermore, this is the second time that Ariana messed up my wife's hair. The first time, Ariana dyed my wife's hair specifically for her roots and charged her over $100, but yet they still showed gray hairs despite Ariana's dye job...although she did offer to not charge my wife for the next root touch-up. However, when my wife came in the second time (to have her extensions done before the wedding) and take up Ariana's offer to have her roots touched up from the previous session, Ariana completely forgot about her offer to waive the fee for redoing my wife's roots and so my wife had to remind her. In doing so, it seemed to have bumped up the price of my wife's extensions appointment from an initial quote of $170 to $200.
TLDR: My wife was charged for bad service, and then never received a promised refund.
My wife is a very good-natured woman and so she wanted to give Ariana a second chance after the first time. But unfortunately, the poor quality of services and Ariana's poor character of keeping money for services (ultimately) unrendered offsets any positive reviews this establishment...
Read moreI waited to write this review as I allowed my anger to settle down. Please do not go here under any circumstance. I went in for golden balayage with Ana and came out with orange, green, platinum blonde, and red hair. She started with foil highlights and when that obviously was the wrong choice she attempted balayage. My hair was processed with bleach for over 2 hours. My curl pattern went from tight coils to bone straight at the ends from over processing. When I walked out of the salon and saw my hair I was devastated. I immediately went to Sally's and put a medium brown rinse over this so I could walk out in public. I looked absolutely insane. Ana also cut my hair very unevenly. I contacted management to give them an opportunity to be decent and that turned into me being blamed for having a box dye job over 6 months ago. I thought you all were supposed to be the experts? Why not offer to do this in stages? Why not perform a patch test? Why not admit it came out terrible and offer to tone it later? They offered me a complementary hair cut with the owner. As I do not doubt that Emmett is very talented and kind, I would completely stay away from Ana. If you insist on going here, book a...
