Calling all tired parents: World Kids is convenient. Incredibly flexible hours 7am-6pm, they provide breakfast and lunch (hugeeee perk), arts and crafts galore, and for my 3yo there is an optional add-on soccer class (read: less shuttling and sitting around waiting). There is a curriculum that changes per week, an app with photos during the day to reassure you your kid is alive, and VERY caring staff (he has 3 teachers during the day and I appreciate their different styles). Big backyard playground area with a variety of toys. We have been here for one month so far and will keep him here until we will enroll our kiddo into kindergarten.
Here are the cons. It’s Spanish immersion and at this school, the native language of staff is Spanish. If you don’t speak Spanish and there is a rare moment that something isn’t getting through, use a Google Translate app or ask to speak with the Director. There are two enrichment classes (Music and one other) that had an additional surcharge per month that I was notified of upon signing once I came to the orientation. Didn’t love that and would appreciate more price transparency. App doesn’t consistently share photos. I just got a 90 notification dump this morning. I came from a home daycare situation where I never got any photos so I still think this is a nice feature but don’t expect the seamless experience of a major tech company — it’s a small daycare. Finally, admissions enrollment process is a little chaotic (as it is with most institutions foe our littles). I was #240 for more than a year. And then one day I called and magically got in. I didn’t love that but also I am grateful we got a spot. We also couldn’t tour before signing. This could be a limited staff issue, but I didn’t appreciate that either. We actually took a tour years ago when I was pregnant so I felt better about the whole thing, but the urgency of making a decision within 24 hours without meeting the staff who would take care of my kid was stressful.
I don’t think any institution is perfect. For a higher price, you may get a more streamlined experience. But for the price I am paying, I am pretty satisfied. My kid is engaged, fed, and safe. I also have a lot of flex time to do my work and also get more domestic goddess work done. So, just do your parent math and realize the tradeoffs of going with a bigger care facility. Despite these cons, we are still happily enrolled and glad to be attending. At the end of the day, the caregivers are lovely and there is structure to my kid’s day. Take it all with a grain of salt...
Read moreMy daughter has been attending the Admiral World Kids School location for about 9 months now, and we couldn't be happier.
We love the staff. The Director, Maria, is extremely warm, communicative, organized, and creates such a loving environment for the teachers and children. My daughter runs into her arms whenever she sees her. The teachers are nurturing, attentive, and care deeply for their students. I feel at ease dropping my daughter off, knowing she is in loving hands (and seeing the way she beams when she sees her teachers in the morning.)
The Spanish immersion aspect is incredible. My daughter fully understands when someone is speaking to her in Spanish and constantly surprises us with the new Spanish words she says.
We appreciate the wide variety of activities and well-rounded curriculum. I’ve been very impressed with the breadth of activities my daughter does every week--gymnastics class, music class in Mandarin, daily art projects, sensory tables, and lots of outdoor play. I also appreciate that the curriculum teaches her about a different country each month, exposing her to new cultures and traditions.
We feel very fortunate to be in the World Kids family and would highly recommend World...
Read moreIt has been almost six months since joining the WorldKids Admiral family and we are so happy we did! Our daughter started in the toddler class where she received so much personalized care and attention and the way the teachers were able to work with the 1-2.5 year olds as a group was truly remarkable!! Her transition into this school was so smooth it allowed me to know she was safe and happy every day. Two months ago she moved up to the Pre-K class where she is now the youngest and naturally I was nervous. The teachers again were so caring and amazing and made here feel so welcome that she had no issues making herself right at home! The kids were all polite and welcoming as well and enjoy doing group projects, playing, and learning lessons and help her when she needs it. I truly do consider these teachers and kids family, and feel so lucky to have found a place we feel so comfortable for our child to be while we are at work. It’s not just a daycare, they teach, play, learn, and grow together. Truly a great...
