Returned again to Mac Daddy (see previous review below from 2 years ago) with a laptop that had charging issues. Bodhi was able to replace the part in record time & the MacBook is back in use. In every encounter Mac Daddy has been courteous, efficient, quick & reasonable. Highly recommended!
I recently had an issue with my iPhone (yes, an older model but other than not holding a charge, did everything necessary). So at a visit to the Apple store (with a friend looking to get a new phone) I visited the “Genius Bar” to see if a battery replacement could be done. When I approached the tech & handed him my phone, his first question was “Do you want a new phone?” I replied that mine just needed a new battery, so he plugged it in to his console & said that he could reset the phone & asked me to agree to a loss of all data. I didn’t agree & he said because the phone was in Recovery mode that he would need to restore the phone before he could diagnose the problem & replace the battery but that would mean the phone would be brought back to its factory state, only data in the cloud would be available. (I had been in the process of saving photos & such to an external drive because Back-up had not been working) So Recovery &/or Restore does not mean what you’d expect it to mean. He was not going to “restore” my phone to where it had been that morning and that if he “recovered” the phone any data on it would no longer be available. To me that was neither Recovery nor Restore & I left with a phone completely unusable. After some research, I came across MacDaddy Repairs & brought my phone to them for a consult. They accepted the challenge (which obviously wasn’t much to them!) & in a few days, I had my phone back, with a new battery (which now again holds a charge all day) & all my data intact! The Not-So-Genius-Bar didn’t even try to accommodate their customer but the Extra-Genius of MacDaddy Repairs did it quickly and kindly. I recommend them completely for all your Mac needs. Bodhi was friendly, patient & kept me updated throughout the process. Thank you Bodhi, your business...
Read moreBrought my laptop in to have the space bar replaced. They took my laptop, looked at the damaged space bar, said it was damaged like I told them on intake, didn’t install the new space bar I provided for the repair as requested/quoted, then charged me $85 for a diagnostics fee with an option for a $350 repair for full upper case replacement.. Original quote was $15 to put on the replacement space bar, $15 to replace a key for cosmetic purposes. I took the laptop home, did a google search, popped the space bar on in under 5 minutes. So ultimately I paid $85 for someone to look at my laptop, tell me what I already knew, not do what I had asked, and tried to upcharge me $350+ on a repair that took 5 min. I get that we all have bad days, but this shop managed to nail the landing on a bad day with a...
Read moreOver the top service. I have a 14 year old 17" MacBook Pro I wanted to keep for the big screen. Needed some parts replaced and when I picked it up it glitched a little on start up - button needed to be pressed more than once to successfully start. They offered to investigate further but I thought I could live with it as I'm only a light computer user.
So six months or more later the button pushing has progressed to six or more times to start up and I took it back in. To my surprise he offered to repair for cost of part alone since the tendency was present at first repair. (Totally a customers choice problem as far as I'm concerned.) Restored my hope for us all with regard to...
