Soft Medicine is a new-age tea shop and does several things well (listed in the Pros below), but misses the mark on one of the biggest parts: training the staff (more listed in the Cons). *Pros: Beautiful space. High quality ingredients. Vegan options. Interesting teas. Big tables for working. Calm environment when there are no screaming children (happens occasionally). *Cons: Half of the time, the staff doesn't seem to know how to use their POS device, or anything about what's on the menu. They get flustered easily, and if there's a line, they'll be visibly frustrated and it'll take 30 minutes to get your order. As for the vegan options, beware that they're big fans of honey and ghee, including in the Chai tea, so make sure to ask while ordering. As for the tea, if you don't order a "Simple Brew," you might be surprised to end up with a whole tray and a 5 minute explanation of how to do a tea service—this is technically on the menu, and it's great if that's what you want, but I've seen several people be surprised by this. Note that Pur tea is strong, so if you are sensitive to caffeine you might choose a different option; also, some drinks may have marijuana products in them. A few more nitpicks: The tea cups are handle-less, which means they're uncomfortable to hold while hot. They're supposed to open at 11am, but don't be surprised if they're still vacuuming and cleaning up if you arrive then. There are no small tables, so your options will be picnic table style, or a couch. Finally, they use compostable plates and cutlery, but have no compost option, so each of these items goes into the landfill. In sum, expect unusual, delicious food in a lovely space, with "relaxed" service in terms of knowledge, promptness,...
Read moreI would give this place 10 stars if I could! We rented space here for a private event, and it was perfect. We worked with Jonathan for details and rental and the day of, we got to meet Buck, he was great! So kinds, helpful and attentive! I am so happy to recomend this place!
Their food and service staff are wonderful, Alex was warm, over the top nice and professional! I really enjoyed his service to me and my event staff and participants. He really made a difference for me during my event. He made sure we had everything we needed and we were fed wonderfully.
ALL the food and drinks I had were memorable and taste delicious. I had the cocoa elixir- next level, green tea, and a goat cheese wrap- that Alex made with Quinoa for me, I LOVED IT! It was hot, fresh and made me feel great. High quality ingredients and next level display.
There was also a wonderful woman helping us with orders and set up (forget here name, red hair, petite and very kind) She hooked me up with a tap while I had my event, that made it very easy to order and treat my partners with goodies all night. Thank you all so much for your service and for being open and an option for us to rent space.
We had an amazing event space and we will defiantly be coming back again soon. What a wonderful gem in Sebastopol!
I also can't say enough about the vibe, decor, space and atmosphere, clean, water jugs with affirmations on them- YES Dr. Emoto style... kudos to the whole team! Just an amazing place, you MUST VISIT,...
Read moreSoft Medicine is a health-oriented cafe and it was a great find on a recent roadtrip! First off, amazing drinks. I had "Endless Summer" and it had a strong ginger zing which picked me up. My friend had the "Passiflora" which looked equally delicious - there's a whole menu of these fun, healthy infusion drinks. There's snacks too, but I didn't try any.
I loved the vibe with the hangout tables and the chill music playing in the background. It's definitely more of a place to relax and chat with friends than to get work done, especially since they don't have any power outlets (learned as my phone battery was near empty).
A great spot with a good book on a rainy afternoon. It's the kind of place where you can easily lose track of time, catching up with friends or just enjoying the atmosphere. I had fun hanging out, even with an...
