I come in here alot and the generally have good peices and geeat qulity food and products but me and a few other coworkers have notices cashiers being rude. And i just had a situation where i felt i was disrespected and treated as a child cuz i qas looking down at my ohone and couldnt hear the gentelman throught the plaxi glass and was yelled at and pushed along in an ignorat way instead of two adults having a professional encounter. I called to let them know and they addressed and apologized for what happend but ultimately brushed it off and put the blame on me even when this wasnt the first inccident of this happening. I get high stress situations but thats no reason to be rude to someone even in a customer service job. I work with kids and the lady on the phone responded then i should know how it is when kids dont listen. Even then i dont yell at them and make them feel incompetent so i dont see why that was a point even brought up. Like i said theres been more instances and im not sure if its racially driven since i am a yound black girl in Sebastopol or just the fact the im young or the employees just cant handel stress well. I really love supporty community markets and business that feed into the community i live in and i dont want to take my business elsewhere but it is making me consider just going to safeway besides the stuf the have exclusively here.. its just all very dissapointing and i know im not the first person to have this experience here. Ive never had a problem with any other stor in the center or Sebastopol and am around alot since i live in the area. I hope this can encourage them to do more training on how to talk to customers and take bias...

The deli section? Life-changing. I’ve seen people cry tears of joy over their sandwiches — real tears, not the fake onion-cutting kind. And the hot bar? It’s like Thanksgiving every day, except you don’t have to deal with your weird uncle who thinks gravy is a beverage.
But the real magic is in the customers. Only here can you spot a retired hippie in Birkenstocks debating organic almond butter choices while a teenager in pajama pants buys sushi and an energy drink like it’s a perfectly normal combination. Spoiler: it is normal here.
Pacific Market is basically the Sebastopol town square disguised as a grocery store. Need kombucha on tap? They got it. Need artisan bread that costs more than your first car payment? Yup. Need a place to people-watch and silently judge kale chip enthusiasts? Welcome home, friend.

Read moreFor the Sebastopol store, specifically my experience at the checkout stand. I don't usually bother giving bad reviews. The checker, middle-aged man at the west end of the checkout stands... He was chatting with the lady before me, which is fine. Still talking to her as he began checking my groceries with his head down, never looked up to acknowledge me. I finally had to say hi. Meanwhile, the bagger, who may have been a robot, maybe new-ish, seemed confused and taking his time. I tried helping him because the checker was finished with my order. And rather than helping the bagger, who was way behind, the checker slapped my cash and receipt on the ledge, without a word to me, and began yacking to the man behind me while checking his groceries, which had caught up with mine. I started throwing the rest of my groceries in bags to assist the poor bagger kid, thanked him (no response), who was now dealing with the next guy's groceries. I yelled "Thank you" to the checker who didn't respond, and I left. I'm so disappointed. I've been shopping at both Pacific Markets for years and wouldn't have expected this from an older person especially....
