I have gestational diabetes and am 38 weeks pregnant, I had to go pick up new test strips for my meter. Keep in mind whenever I go to the Walgreens in Edina they are kind, helpful, and never say no they can't help you. However, the Shakopee Walgreens on Vierling/Marschall Rd is horrible and the attitude from the pharmacist and staff is unacceptable. The first time I went in, I waited for 45 minutes in line before being helped. One girl was at the register, neither the pharmacist or manager on duty helped her ring people up and she was up there all by herself while the others did work on their computer. I felt bad for her. I had given her my name, address, birthday, and told her I was picking up test strips for my meter. I asked her if I could have her or a pharmacist come help me check to make sure they were the right test strips and that if it was wrong, I wanted to call my Dr. and get the right test strips or right meter. She looked and said they were right as did the pharmacist. I get home to test my blood and the test strips were wrong, I paid 300 dollars for them. I came back that following Saturday 1/15/2022, and explained to them what happened and that I was given the wrong test strips. Anywhere else you can buy a stand alone meter to match the test strips you have. They told me that they A) They couldn't refund me and B) I couldn't buy the meter and C) When I asked why not, they said the meter was discontinued. I asked to speak to the manager and they ignored it and told me to "calm down". After that I told them that I just needed someone to help me sort out the situation and if they couldn't I wanted to be guided to someone who could. I was laughed at and called irrational. I apologized to them and said, I'm sorry for how that came across, I'm 38 weeks pregnant and have been for days without my strips and have been here twice and I just need help. I was told by the female pharmacist working on 1/15/2022 at 3PM that "I am going to make you do work, go home and get the test strips, bring them back and I'll see what I can do for you." She proceeded to tell me "She's had three kids and never talked to someone the way I talked to her." I apologized, started crying and asked to speak to a manager, the manager was in the back and ignored my plea and the lady continued to give me lip." I personally have worked customer service, fast food and restaurants for years and never have spoken or been spoken to the way this female pharmacist talked to me. I also was taught no matter what, you treat the customer with respect and help them and when you can't, you get your manager. I was laughed at on my way out and she told me "okay, please do call our manager." I've never been so humiliated or walked out of a store crying because of how I was being helped. I recommend driving the extra mile and not going to the Walgreens in Shakopee. It took my husband going in and settling it to get them to do the right...
Read moreThe male manager at this facility definitely needs to be kicked out of his position because he doesn’t have the qualities to do his job. I went to this location to grab some make up, I tried a bit of the mascara on my hand to see if it was the color I wanted ( I know I shouldn’t had done that) but anyways the manager screamed and me and said “ those are not samples, now you have to buy it.” I looked at him and said I’m sorry I’ll buy it no problem. He then stand behind me and wouldn’t go away and he said “ you need to take the bottle to the cashier and pay for it.” As if I was stealing from them. At this point I was getting a bit upset but I kept my calmness I just looked up at him and gave him the “ mean” eye, Then I said “ I am still looking for things I’ll pay when I am ready and I continued shopping. When paying, I was speaking to the cashier (Townya) an African American woman and I was asking her how she can work with such a mean and rude man. She said “ sometimes we just have to” those words radiated in my mind for a minute then said to myself if this guy treated me this poorly I am positive he is terrible with his staff also. I called customer service and reported his behavior/attitude and still waiting for an answer from them. It’s very disappointing to see the one store you being going to for 20 plus years going to nothing just because of bad...
Read moreShould've known better than to go to this location. In Shakopee, this store has a reputation for being horrible...and I mean HORRIBLE! Got a message that my prescription was ready for pickup. Went through the drive through and found out my copay tripled and I wasn't notified. They told me to call my insurance and in the meantime, they could break my prescription out and give me one month instead of three (they've done this in the past, literally takes them two minutes...just repackaging and reruning through insurance). The cashier Lincoln, who I will mention was very kind, went to tell the pharmacist. She responds that I have to come back in an hour. Remind you, this is for an inhaler for asthma. I was due for my next dose of medication and now I'm being told to come back. I asked to speak to the manager and Emily approached the glass. I told her my issue and also that without this medication, I may end up in the ER because of my asthma being aggrivated at the time. I pleaded with her to help since it only takes 2 minutes. She said no. I confirmed with her "so you can't give me two minutes of your time"? Her reply "no". She sat down the phone and walked away. If you can avoid them, do! What horrible customer...
