Short review: Worst customer service by far. I've never had anyone tell me to not come back and I quote "no, don't come again". The receptionist was very rude. I will never come here again nor will I recommend this place to anyone. You're way better off going to 98 pounds in bloomington. The food there is much better, service is very friendly, and there is more selection of food.
Longer, quite lengthy review: My boyfriend and I enjoy going to Chinese buffets that serve crab legs. We love seafood. We usually go to 98 pounds for crab legs however they weren't serving crab legs Friday-Sunday. So we decided maybe we'll try a new buffet. We did some search online and found this place. It had average reviews. We called and the receptionist confirmed that they were serving crab legs. We get there and asked for a table for two. Without blinking an eye the receptionist says something to me (couldn't quite understand her heavy accent), I said excuse me and she gave me an attitude repeating herself "$24.??", paid for it and stood there for a minute wondering if we seat ourselves or wait for someone to seat us; you seat yourselves and self serve drinks. My boyfriend opted for the crab legs right away. I headed towards fried rice and other dishes. The food is not that great. The sesame chicken tasted really weird. And the dumplings along with the sauce had this very bitter taste. I've had dumplings from other places and it's usually very gingery and sweet and savory. After some samples of their dishes, I decided to just have some shrimp and crab legs. Their crab legs are TINY compared to other places. My boyfriend probably had 5 plates of crab legs total, and I, maybe 2. I noticed every time my boyfriend went up for a plate of crab legs, the receptionist and the server would speak to each other in Chinese. The receptionist would stare out at us and every 10 minutes, she would walk by and discreetly "check" on us. When we left, I said thank you to the receptionist. She said "no, don't come again!" I knew she was mad that we ate over 30 dollars of seafood, after all, it is a BUFFET. We didn't do anything wrong. They had no disclaimer about crab legs, most places don't. I said to her with a smile, "I'll see you next week." I really didn't mean it but I really wanted to agitate her some more because clearly she didn't want us to go there ever again for illegitimate reasons. I mean, come on, it's an all you can eat buffet. All we did was eat. We didn't cause any harm to anyone, we didn't disturb anyone. We showed up, paid, ate, said thank you, and left. I would not recommend this place to anyone who loves seafood. If you dare touch their seafood, they will treat you as if you've robbed them. If you don't believe me, go there and try. I rated their food as "good" only because they...
Read moreWe decided to go here because we haven't been in two years. When we walked in the door, it looked as if they tried to adf some calming decor, so we werr hopeful.
Thete was nobody to greet you. There were tables set up with a bunch of to go boxes, 1 cash register, and one lady behind the register that never said a word. There were hand printed cardboard signs that had pricing for the buffet by the pound.
We asked if we could eat at a table. She said we could, but all food goes into the cardboard containers and we can choose a table to eat it.
When we grabbed our to go container and walked to the buffet, thete wete boxes of gloves. I put a pair on and started filling up my container.
I saw other people just disregard the gloves & begin filling their container.
They had a decent selection to choose from. We grabbed beverages and went to pay.
They put the container on a scale where you couldn't see the weight & did the same for the next container. My husbands was much heavier than mine & they charged us the same amount for both containers. Clearly a rip off.
We had to grab our plastic silverware, which I hate eating food with, and ate our meal. NONE of the food was hot. Most of it was cold and some of it was tepid at best. The flavor was okay, but I'm positive the food doesn't meet temperature requirements. I was fearful I would become ill.
The good news is that neither of us got sick. The bad news is we will never come back to this restaraunt. It's a shame because we used to enjoy...
Read moreMy family has eaten here on occasion for probably the past 5-10 years. I would say the quality was better then. In general, there's nothing astonishing about the restaurant other than the larger selection and seating. I might have rated it 4 stars, but while I don't expect the quality to be great on some visits, today the peppered chicken was bland (I should have known from looking at it), and the Japanese chicken tasted rotten (didn't eat much - hoping I don't get sick!) Another reason to knock a star (from 4 to 3) is that the prices have continually increased, and while the service from before wasn't great, now it's just nwhite existent to unfriendly? I would highly recommend they trim down on the variety to cut cost and focus on quality. It might be a long while before we visit again. I only ate half of my $15 takeout (as usual), but I always look forward to the left overs! This time it's going to...
