Valley Storage - Shallotte — Local services in Shallotte

I have been a customer for over 4 years and had a great experience until the new company, Ocean Storage took over. Ocean Storage has increased its prices twice since taking over and just recently enforced a new policy that requires everyone to have rental insurance on your property that's in their storage unit. If you didn't respond by a certain time, they were going to charge you for insurance that was offered by one of their recommended companies.

Needless to say, we removed all of our belongings from there and will never use this company again, nor will we recommend them to anyone else. They seem to be more focused on how they can make money rather than keeping their loyal customers happy. They're not doing anything differently that I can see (other than allowing you to make payments online) that can justify why they keep going up on their rates.

On a positive note, I will have to say that our belongings were kept in good condition, the units were clean, and they provided good customer service. But we experienced this way before Ocean Storage took over, so that wasn't to their credit. However, I do give credit to Mrs. Myrtle. She was the best, and if it wasn't for her, we wouldn't have stayed there as long as we did. Kudos to you...

Sad to have to go this way….. I have been with Valley Storage for 8 years and they have always worked, respected and understood my situation. They will go above and beyond to make sure your belongings are exactly how you stored them and I will miss what I’ve established with Myrtle, Katijo and Jessica. Each time I had a concern they made sure they answered it accordingly and when unfortunately having to come to NC to clean out my mothers estate unit they worked with me as they knew I was there temporarily. Also, shoutout to Mr. John who to the liberty to give us an extra hand with loading and junking our stuff. We were on scarce time and it mean’t a lot for him to meet with my family and I to assist with getting the ball rolling. I would definitely do business with this storage facility again if needed, I truly recommend others to consider this their place to go if your out of room an need somewhere to place a few things. Most important the customer service I received was by far one of the best to me I've experienced. The older lady there is always happy, sweet, and doing the best that she is able to do and I really liked her a lot, then there is a younger lady there Olivia who always brightens my day in appearance just to see her behind that desk or on the yard checking things out making sure all are going well. Truly a site to see in person Olivia alone is worth purchasing a storage unit in my opinion, my only recommendation is I wish the lady's there had help with the maintenance around the place I don't think that's a job for two women to be taking...
