For over a decade I have relied on Will Eick of Homecoming Woodworks to make my house dreams come true. I knew him to be a straightforward and reliable person, so I engaged him to design and build my new kitchen. It had to fit a small footprint in my cottage and required swapping out a door for a window, complete cabinetry and cutting a new entry door. I was consistently pleased with his attention to my design requests. As we worked together on the unique design, he presented drafts, computer mock-ups and careful cost estimates. To my past and present delight my “new kitchen” is still an aesthetically pleasing workspace that works beautifully for preparation and presentation of meals. Will’s workmanship is superb. Every cabinet and drawer functions perfectly after 12 years of daily use. It still all looks new and I get lots of compliments. And the price was fair and worth every penny. When it came time to build a canopy over my entry door I immediately hired Will. He again designed and built a beautiful and functional structure and coordinated the integration of the roofing with existing standing seam that is on the house. As a craftsman he is matchless. As a person he is beyond that. Polite, intelligent, timely, responsible, reliable, trustworthy and communicative, he balances all the variables of design/build with a lovely sense of humor and kindness. He is a joy to work with and a master of his craft. I recommend him wholeheartedly.

Will Eick of HomeComing Woodworks restored and refinished our Family Heirloom China Cabinet. Family legend placed the acquisition of the cabinet back to the late nineteenth century. Age and past efforts at finish topcoating had deeply blackened the finish and some of the glue joints were clearly saying they had enough. For this treasured cabinet to remain in service a major overall was required. We did a long search for restoration cabinetmakers and clearly felt Will was our best option to provide the skills and sensitivity the project needed.

A rich warm hued structure of solid mahogany lay under the blackened crumbling finish. Will removed the old finishes, applied a new finish that allowed the wood to really speak. He also reset all the mirror and glass work. The cabinet now projects a proud and handsome presence for both itself and its contents.

Will was a pleasure to work with, someone who really sweats the details. He kept in close touch with us reviewing restoration details, carefully preparing stains and finishing sample options. When you work with Will your project has his full time and attention, as it will literally be the only work in the shop...

From start to finish working with Will of HomeComing Woodworks was a fantastic experience. We contacted Will to create a custom shelf to serve as a railing for our stairs as well as a stand for our tv projector. He designed and built the perfect piece which not only looks stunning but is also amazingly functional. The entire piece was built to be hollow to run cords, has electricity and outlets exactly where we need them, fit the exact dimensions we needed, and is so obviously built by a master craftsman that visitors regularly comment on it.

From the time we first contacted HomeComing Woodworks to project completion, every step of the process was timely and professional. We had several versions sent back and forth refining each and every detail of the project. Not only did he deliver and install the piece on time, he even returned and made further adjustments outside of the scope of the original project when we inquired.
