EZPAWN — Local services in Sheridan

If you are reading this review, then I would suggest looking at the very recent reviews versus ones several months ago on this store. Most of the employees that generated those good reviews are no longer at this store. And if you look at any other EZ Pawn location review, you will never see the general rating much over about 3 stars. There used to be a few employees here including the former manager that were good customer people. They're gone and this store is back to the normal lousy EZ Pawn experience. I've done business with EZ Pawn for 7 years. I have a very high pick up rate for loans, and I have spent tens of thousands of dollars on merchandise. I have had some good experiences with EZ Pawn. But I've also had a lot of experiences that range from bad to very bad to flat out negligent. And I've never left a bad review even when they deserved it. This time I had employee make some comments about my layaway that I knew wasn't true. It's particularly offensive when you standing there giving them your business, and they make a few statements that I happen to know are not store or corporate policy. It's a genuine and real INTEGRITY ISSUE. And this isn't the first time, so now I'm leaving a review. Not to get anyone in trouble, but so the public will read this review and know to be cautious. Integrity is an issue with EZ Pawn not only with employees, but I've also experienced it with management. To be fair, there are some good people at EZ Pawn. However, EZ Pawn is a huge corporation, and upper management crushes employees at the store level with corporate policy. Extending even good customers any courtesy outside of those policies is frowned upon, even when it's a good or right thing to do and better overall for the store and making more money for the company as a whole. It's stupid. Take your business elsewhere. Overall, you will be glad you did that. PS. EZ Pawn management has the ability to set alerts on customers' accounts impacting their ability to do business with them. Typically these are security measures, but I know of real instances where the alert comments were used to raise suspicions unfairly. Called a couple weeks prior to bringing my $10,600 retail Snap On 6 ft Toolbox with Topper to see what ballpark they would be in if I went through the trouble of renting a uhaul and bringing it there, a 40 minute drive for me. Spoke with Steve the store manager and he did some internet research while we were on the phone with both model numbers. We repeatedly spoke about the retail price and that he would be between $6,000-$8000 depending on condition contingent to him seeing the box, which seemed reasonable for a pawn shop to purchase it for in order to resell for a profit. 2 weeks later I rented a uhaul for almost $90 and loaded the extremely heavy toolbox and top into it and drove it down. When I got there he told me that he remembered me and our phone conversation, then proceeded to offer me $800 because that's what he thought we were talking about on the phone, NOT the $6,000 to $8,000 we actually spoke about. If you search the internet, these boxes are selling for $6k plus. Now do you really think I'm that dumb?? These guys are a bunch of snakes, what a shame these people have become. OK, I usually only leave a single review for a business but I was in yesterday and once again I was given excellent service by the staff and especially Wayne the manager. I have seem other managers come and go from this location over the years and you have someone now who cares both about the store as well as the customers and it shows. Wayne is a keeper so do not let him go anywhere. As long as I get service like this I will always come back, Way to go EZ Pawn.

Wow this place is the best of all expansive. The manager Wayne gave me and my family great service. Everyone needs to go see Wayne for great deals and great customer care.

UPDATE Just wanted to say that I was in on Friday and once again I had a great experiance. Guys seriously you need to do something special for this store, they are the ones the everyone is going to. They give excellent service and I love the great customer service. Get these people to train everyone else and EZ...
