While attending my niece's wedding from out of state, a nightmare occurred on the wedding day when Albertson's in Sheridan called the bride (my niece) at 8am and told her they would not be able to make the cakes for her wedding that day. Mind you, these cakes had been ordered well in advance, the order confirmed, and that it would be ready at 10am the day of the wedding. They gave some excuse as someone not able to come in-but if the cakes were supposed to be ready at 10 am and they called at 8am, they obviously had not baked them the day before which would have been the necessary to make sure they would be ready at 10! My niece called me in a panic, and I told her I would call around to see what I could do. My first call was to Ridley's, a local grocery store I hoped might be able to help. At first the bakery said they doubted they could get them done by 2pm (the time of the reception), but then decided they would do their best to meet the deadline because they felt so bad for my niece. Plus, the cakes were just 2 half sheet cakes with simple decorations. It was confirmed we would pick them up at 2pm, but asked if they got done early to please call. At 12:30pm I got a call from Ridley's that the cakes were ready to go! I went and picked them up and was so impressed they were able to do the colors of the wedding (blue & gold) which was the groom's dress uniform colors for the Army Nat'l Guard. These colors are difficult when pre-ordered, but they went out of their way to get them on the cakes in any way they could! Plus they were beautifully decorated with their names. Ridley's SAVED THE DAY, and came through in a big way for my dear niece. (They even wrote a sweet note for the bride and groom on the boxes, congratulating them on their special day!) I will never forget their kindness and expertise at doing this very...
Read moreNo matter how cheap no matter how high tech no matter how clean, if a business doesn't have people manning the cash registers who have a sense of personality, spontaneity then whatever you're going to do with your business plan, it won't work to its fullest potential. These cashiers are the worst cashiers I have ever seen anywhere in the United States of America and that's no exaggeration and you know it too if you've been there. Attitude exists that they don't want to be there and you are a burden to them it's like an assembly line and they holler the word next. Is Sheridan Wyoming so desperate for employees that they allow their employees to have absolutely no customer service skills whatsoever in any way form or fashion? I finally quit going there I couldn't take it anymore you can't even say hello they just look at you like you're stupid. I give up, I Surrender, I'll go...
Read moreThe ol Riddler is a decent place to find your staple goods. Seems strange that they dont have a liquor license. The one in Laramie does, so I dont know what's going on. Also, they have an ice machine inside as well as outside, so there is no reason not to cool off. Will stop by the next time I'm in town, certainly, but then again it's a grocery store and a guy has got to eat. I considered using the restroom to verify if any progress has been made since the great disappointment of a previously posting patron, but then I realized that I already had a long write up prepared for this grocery store and decided instead to go home and start working on this novel, which I hope you have greatly enjoyed. See you out on the trails...
