My family and I have been to this restaurant dozens of times, it's one of our favorites. Tonight, however, we waited for an hour for a table for 6 people. With a group that size, I'd expect a longer wait during the dinner rush. They sat tables that came in after us, including equally large groups. They put a table of three who showed up after us at a high top made for six people. We do have kids, but they didn't ask if a high top would be okay (we would have happily sat there). By the time we reached our breaking point, a group of four came in and the hostess sat them within minutes. I'm not sure what size table they got, but it's frustrating to wait an hour and then watch a brand new group come in and get seated immediately. Every time we tried to tell her how long we'd been there and ask why she wasn't seating us, she just stared at us. I don't believe she speaks English very well, so I asked to speak with someone who did. She never brought anyone. Instead, she offered to seat us at 2 separate tables. After one hour of waiting and no acknowledgement that they had seated other people ahead of us, we opted to just leave rather than support this restaurant tonight. It's disappointing to have such a poor experience at a restaurant we...
Read moreEnjoyed the Mexican dinner. Las Delicias is located in a historic brick building and has a huge menu. When we were seated, a large basket of chips and salsa was brought to our table. I ordered the combo plate with 2 tacos (1 chicken and 1 shredded beef) and my husband ordered the flautas. Both were very good and comparable to other Mexican restaurants we have eaten at in larger cities. They appear to have a separate lunch menu as well. We ate here on a Thursday night at 6:30 and were seated after a 10 or so minute after waiting for a hostess. I noticed that the line grew long quickly after that as there were no more tables. I suggest getting there closer to 6pm if you want to avoid the wait. Also, service was very slow for us (the couple seated after us recieved their dinner significantly before us). The restaurant was packed and I suspect short staffed like everywhere but it is hard to explain the discrepancy in wait times for food. Overall, we enjoyed and do recommend...
Read moreMy family and I have gone to Las Delicias for years and have always enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. However, the last couple of times I've gone (in their new location) the service has been unimpressive. Once seated it's taken quite a bit for someone to order our drinks (we usually order food at the same time because we know what we like), and then even longer for the order to arrive at our table. The server is always rushed, there's never any follow-up on if we need refills of chips or drinks, and we've never been asked if we want dessert before the bill is brought to us. I'm thrilled they finally moved to a bigger location because they certainly deserve it in my opinion, but I strongly believe they could stand to hire some new staff to help with the influx of more customers a larger location provides. Aside from the service, the food is always great. We'll continue to visit. I just hope they're able to slow down and actually check in...
