Gamers XP — Local services in Shreveport

Pros: Very spacious to entertain lots of people without feeling too crowded. Wide variety of tabletop games, not just mtg. Cons: Poor selection of mtg singles. Staff seems less than knowledgeable of mtg than most shops I've been to. Staff isn't willing to help when looking for specific cards if they aren't valuable. On two occasions I have gone in with decklists and was only helped if cards were in a binder or case. Trade ins don't make any sense to me. Traded in stuff on their hot list, and got less than I expected. Will not trade in the future. Overall, very mediocre visits for me. I will be looking for a better shop to regularly visit.

Edit: Went from 2 stars to three. Staff has been a little more helpful and friendly in my last several visits. My friends and I seriously love coming here especially for the MTG events but I’m at a point I want to stop coming not because of the staff but the clientele it’s self. I’ve gone to other card shops that have a rule that players coming to events are expected to adhere to normal hygiene standards and if they have an offensive odor they’ll be asked to leave. Kinda how bars stop sales if the person is too drunk or reeks of alcohol. Here’s an example I saw someone show online but yeah great place just wish the community didn’t deter me and my friends from coming anymore. Wow, I have to say, when I walked through the front doors of this place, I immediately felt at home. I have been to some other stores that were similar to this one, but Gamers XP stood out to me as one of the best. The employees there were informative, very helpful, and easy to approach and talk to. Everyone i saw in there were friendly and inviting, and it overall had a fantastic atmosphere. I would recommend that anyone who is wanting to either buy Magic: The Gathering cards, Pokémon Trading Cards, or DnD Gamebooks and guides or statues, or simply sit down and play with other people, to go and give this place a try!
