Cliff's Notes: if you are not Korean, you will be served last.
I've been to KH several times for lunch.
Food has always been to order and served within 5-10 minutes after order.
However my most recent visit revealed an unfortunate reality concerning the priorities of the staff of KH.
When I arrived the only other party had already finished eating and left within a few minutes.
I placed my lunch order: bugolgi.
A Korean couple entered the restaurant as I placed my order. The server went to them immediately and took their order.
Another Korean party entered a couple minutes after.
About 10 minutes after I ordered, the first Korean couple (3) was served, even though I'd ordered before they entered the restaurant.
Then another 5-10 minutes later the second Korean party was served.
A third Korean party entered around then, and they were attended to, then served.
I was not served my food until about 40 MINUTES after ordering, even though the restaurant was essentially EMPTY when I arrived.
To top it all off, I was served a bowl of burned rice with vegetables, not the bugolgi I ordered.
I was charged for bugolgi.
In conclusion: if you don't mind being neglected/disrespected because you're not Korean, then KH is a decent place to take a chance on getting what you ordered.
Otherwise they may waste your time and disrupt your schedule and stomach for the...
Read moreTL;DR: This place is excellent!!!
I'm so excited to see a new Korean option in the area! They were very gracious and accommodating for my large party. Our server was very attentive and had a great personality - I'm afraid I didn't catch her name. The banchan was delicious and the kimchi is SOOO good! I was so excited for the bibimbap (my favorite!) and it didn't disappoint! I got an opportunity to sample the bulgogi (regular, hot pot, and stone pot - yay for a large group!) and it was all marinated and cooked to perfection, very flavorful ! The pork belly was heaven in every bite and the japchae was sooo satisfying! The dumplings were fried and arrived crispy and super fresh (I'll admit, I prefer them steamed but they were still good). I think the jajangmyun was my least favorite - and I still would have stuffed myself silly on it.
The place is a bit small and the door sticks a bit from the outside. Keep in mind Korean food is labor intensive and it's a small, family-owned restaurant - you won't get your food in 5 minutes but I promise it's worth the wait.
If you enjoy Korean food, you're doing yourself a disservice if you don't check...
Read moreAte here for the first time last night and absolutely loved it. There were so many delicious looking/sounding options, it was hard to decide. I googled a lot of the dishes while waiting for my friend, since I didn't know what a lot of them were. I got the Yukgaejang and it was really good. My friend ordered the Bibimbap which she loved and said tasted very fresh. The serving sizes were large, we both had leftovers to bring home. The Kimchi Pancake was absolutely fabulous and large enough to have been an entree itself. Service was delightful, our waitress was very patient and friendly, answering any questions we had regarding the dishes and pronunciations. The atmosphere was fine, I wasn't really paying attention to it, but overall I would describe it as casual, well kept, and clean. I did not go into the bathrooms so I can't speak to that. I will definitely be returning to try more!!! Would definitely...
