After reading reviews on google for Virtual Home Services it was an easy choice to call and schedule an appointment. The response was fast the quote was more than fair for the work I was asking for. I needed over 8 POE Lan drops ran through an attic I knew my mobility was not the best choice to perform the work. I also needed 6 external cameras mounted to complete my home network. Doug came out and answered every question I had. It was clear from the start he was knowledgeable, and my installation would not be a problem. The communication was on point, and I was contacted on the install day with an ETA. The workmanship of him and his team were fantastic. They only needed 1 small access hole in the wall which they patched to my satisfaction and even installed cable brackets in the attic for all runs to create a clean off the attic floor install. This attention to detail on even non visible areas is how it should be done for any future cable runs or attic insulation upgrades. The cable runs were neatly bundled, the camera boxes were sealed on the outside to prevent moisture penetration and when the install was completed I had NO mess to clean up. Doug offered suggestions, choices, and valuable input where needed for things I may not have thought about and did a final walkthrough before he left to make sure I had no concerns. Doug also personally followed up with me two days later to make sure things were still satisfactory. From start to finish VHS did a 5 star job and I could not be happier. Should any further needs arise for myself or anyone I know, far and away I will...
Read moreI have used VHS twice for work at my home. I had a Ring smart video/doorbell installed on the front of my home. Sure, I could have installed it myself, but would I have been brave enough to drill into the brick on the front of my house and not ruin everything? Probably not. So happy that Doug (one of the owners) knows what he's doing. He took care of ordering the parts, taking care of installation, and showing us how to use the app on out phones to get the most out of the system. He didn't try to upsell us on any additional products.
We used VHS again to install a smart lock on our home. Again, he showed us the various options available and pointed out we should choose a color that matched our existing hardware (I would not have thought of that on my own). He took care of ordering and installed for us. He ran into a few snags removing the existing lock and then getting the new deadbolt to latch. I can only imagine if my partner and I was trying to install, we would have been freaking out. Doug handled everything in stride (he's done this a few times). We thought we could download the app can get it connected to our Smart system ourselves, but again Doug was there to help us out when we got stuck.
The personal attention that they give at VHS is unmatched. Communication via email with both Doug and Sean was easy and quick. They were available even after 5pm and on the weekend to work around our schedule. Of course, you could try to do everything yourself, but they take the thinking and arguing out of the equation. That's absolutely...
Read moreAs someone who works in Enterprise IT (Datacenter and Cloud) VHS impressed me immensely. They know their stuff better than any company I've worked with in St. Louis by far. They were very professional and extremally fair on pricing. They came in way under budget and added a lot of value such as sourcing networking equipment I was unable to find on my own.
If you need Smart Home installation, PoE Cameras, or even wiring your house up with ethernet (or fiber) this company is your best choice in St. Louis without question.
I had other company's that were traditional handy man companies that didn't understand the tech and wanted to charge me more than double what VHS charged me.
The work I had completed:
Cat6a ran throughout my house for PoE Cameras, Wifi Access Points, and RJ45 wall outlets. I now have 10Gbe for my home which will make my Wifi much faster and more stable.
I will be using them again for future smart home stuff. If you are building a home you need to have VHS at least wire it up...
