El Mercado Manny’s Farmers Market — Local services in Sierra Vista

I read about this store opening up in the newspaper. I was unable to attend the opening as I had to work but went a couple of days later. I was so excited and was left very underwhelmed. The was very little inventory available. The store itself is nice and large with numerous small rooms along each side. About a 1/4 of the total square footage was used for the store and as I mentioned,little inventory. Tortilla selection is poor and overpriced in my opinion. The produce was in poor condition and old. It's so nice to have another grocery store in West End with a larger selection than the co-op. Don't get me wrong. I love the co-op but they don't always have what I'm looking for. Manny's is right around the corner from me, too. So, when I realize midway through making dinner that I'm out of something, it's so easy to run over there and grab it. The only suggestion I have is better lighting. It's pretty dimly lit, so sometimes it's a little hard to see. Otherwise, I love this little...

Hope they can make a go of this, but as it looks right now, they may fall short, we'll see. The problem is not having enough people on staff and not enough product to offer. But they have some great local offerings, which is great. And they have activities for kidd ss well as other shops renting space inside along with the market. So many things in Sierra Vista are good ideas that don't ever seem to quite get off the ground. I hope this is...
