Preordered and paid for the Avatar MTG set- I called the store 3 weeks later to confirm the order and make sure it would be fulfilled. They said no, all online preorders will be cancelled. I asked why they haven’t cancelled and refunded the orders if they knew they would not be fulfilled, and they said “we’ll cancel them later in the week.” At the end of the week my order had still not been cancelled, I had to call back and hound them to actually cancel and refund the order. Absolutely wild that they had no intention of fulfilling the orders, KNEW they would not be fulfilled, but I still had to go out of my way and call multiple times for a refund. They are obviously using their preorders to fund their distribution before cancelling and selling at a markup
**The store owner is lying in their response. There were no issues with shopify, they did not even attempt to cancel the order they knew would not be fulfilled or initiate the refund until the second time I called. They also provided a different, fake excuse on each of those calls why they hadn’t cancelled the preorder yet- first that they had lost the power in the store (which somehow, conveniently only affected their ability to cancel online orders, not their ability to answer the phone, open the store, run events, etc… and second, that the person who was able to cancel the order was not present at the store. Very strange that I’m not hearing a third, fake reason as to why they couldn’t cancel my order that they had known for weeks would not be able to be fulfilled. I’m filing a report with the BBB and with Wizards, I hope your dishonesty and attempts to defraud your customers have...
Read moreThey are always helpful and polite when I come in, and while their selection may be somewhat limited compared to big city stores, they have picked what they do carry very well and they can order what they don't have for you. It really is impressive how much variety they have in a small storefront. I recently got a unpainted but assembled Warhammer AoS army from them at a very nice price, and they are ordering the rule book for me. I've bought good paints, dice, and D&D books from them, and their prices are always within reasonable margain for an in-person store or flat out highly competitive with the best prices online.
Support you local gaming store, whether you be a card gamer, role player, or tabletop gamer, the gaming store is our lifeblood and the place where we find other people to play with. The internet may be more convenient, but the game store is far more integral to the growth and prosperity of our gaming community as a whole, even for those who have other means of finding people...
Read moreThe store itself is very nice, with lots of displays and products of various games.
The staff however is not great. The person who ran the event I was in has a very brash attitude, and overall did not make me feel very welcome to be there.
The staff also seemingly did not know the price for their own event that was happening that day?! I had to show online where it said the price, because otherwise I would've been charged $5 extra.
Also, the ultimate sin of game stores, smelling bad. The patrons were actually not the culprit in this case, but rather a staff member, if you can believe that.
I hope I don't need to come back here in the future, as I would much rather go to other game stores in the area if they're running similar events. (I will not name said stores in order to not advertise here, but at least one other does exist in...
