Update 2024: We've been back several times both dine in and take out. Honestly our experiences have been mixed. Some servers are excellent others are lack luster. The food is usually delicious but once in a while on a take out order we've gotten errors or stale rolls etc. I dropped a star for these reasons and also because the California chicken dinner I raved about in my original review has gotten consistently worse every time I've tried it. I would say the first 2 or 3 times I went I ordered it and it was delicious but then... suddenly it tasted like someone had spilled red chili peppers in it. I couldn't eat the sauce. I asked the server and they brought me a side of the sauce but it was the same. He said the cook said it's the same as it's always been. But it definitely didn't taste the same and my husband tried it and agreed. Yet I've tried it again a few times since, hopeful each time that it would be as good as the first but it alas tastes like red chili pepper instead of the delicious lemon sauce I loved so much. I've given up trying. We may go back if craving steak or ribs... usually it's the rolls that I crave but I am just so sad that I can no longer eat the meal I so enjoyed.
Original 4 star Review: Pros: Excellent taste & quality of food. Big building so doesn't feel crowded.
Neutral: Service was just ok. Prices were a little high but not bad for the quality of food.
Cons: Long waits, some minor service issues.
We went to an early dinner with friends around 2:30pm the other day. The parking lot was about 75% full but the restaurant wasn't crowded. Our table ordered a California Salad, a steak dinner, a 1/2 rack ribs with chili & fries, and a California chicken dinner with veggies and mashed potatoes and gravy. We didn't order appetizers but we did get drinks.
The server brought the chili way before the rest of the meal was ready which was not requested and since no one else had any food brought early my husband didn't want to be rude and eat it before the rest his meal came. This meant it was not fresh when his meal did arrive with the rest some time later. The server didn't check back often but did bring refills for the iced teas at least once. The server brought new glasses but did not offer to remove the previous ones despite the crowded table surface.
The food was all very tasty. My husband had the ribs which fell off the bone and were tender and delicious. I had the California chicken dinner and it was so good. The lemon sauce dressing was very flavorful. I will definitely have it again. I am not usually a lemon person but this was delicious. The chicken was cooked well and the broccoli was tender and well seasoned. No one had any complaints about the food except the butter used for the rolls. The bread baskets come with a sweet cinnamon sugar butter instead of a plain butter and while it is good and reminded me of cinnamon sugar toast from my childhood, we all agreed we would have preferred regular butter. The rolls were soft and had a faint sweetness of their own.
I tried the sangria margarita and it was huge which I did not expect. The Pina colada my husband got was half the size, which is to say it was a normal sized drink. The sangria was tasty but my husband had to help me drink it and we still didn't finish it.
Our friends got there first and got the table so we didn't have to wait but I'm not sure how long our friends waited. I'm guessing not long though since there wasn't a long line.
The restaurant seemed clean & the staff were nice enough but could have been more welcoming. No one was rude but there was nothing impressive about the customer service either. Few if any smiles to be seen from anyone other than our server.
All in all the food would bring us back. If you're a steak/ribs person this would be the place to try in...
Read moreTook family to dinner. At least I thought it was going to be a nice dinner. Waited from 5:37 PM until 7:03 PM for our meal. This wait time was after a fifteen-minute wait to get seated. What a joke the cook (Daniel B) comes out bragging how they make twenty-eight thousand dollars per day. Food wait time is 40 minutes (can you tell time we waited hour and half for basic food). Daniel goes on to tell me people didn't show up for work and the food truck was short like seven cases of ribs. Ok I am sorry for your issues but that is not my fault. Daniel went on to make statements that if I knew anything about restaurant business I would understand and I would realize that the food is worth the long wait time. Daniel, I have Chefs in my family, and I have been going to nice Supper Clubs for forty years. The service we received on 2/21/22 at Texas Roadhouse was terrible. At the point Daniel was telling me how the restaurant business works, our food arrives. Daniel is like see that nice food and I am like no I don't as there is a mistake with our order. The baked potatoes where to have butter and sour cream on them, not cheese and bacon. Back the potatoes go to the kitchen. Now that we are all upset and not really hungry, we try to eat. I look at my 85-year-old husband and he is just chewing. Finally, he gags a little and spits out a piece of meat this was his first bit of food and only bit he would take. We give up and get boxes for our food. The waitress happily provides us with a $100.00 bill. I leave no tip on the credit card, but I do give five bucks (waitress is pregnant so I felt obligated). We also ate our bread without drinks as it took like twenty minutes to get a bottle of beer. We used the drink napkins that didn't have drinks on them to wipe our hands as we didn't get napkins or silverware for a while. All and all it was one of the worse dinners I have had in years. I took my family to a place that should have been nice, relaxing and enjoyable but it was none of those things. SO...
Read moreSierra Vista is a small town with a few options for steak. I would think a steakhouse would train their cooks on how to properly cook a steak but that isn't the case with the location in Sierra Vista. On my latest visit I had the wrong steak brought to me with my 2 sides and it was undercooked even though it wasn't the steak I ordered. The steak was taken back to the kitchen and the 2 sides were left on the table. Do I eat the sides after munching on their bread or do I let them get cold and wait the 15 minutes for my steak to be done? I decided to eat since I was hungry and 15 minutes later my steak was finally brought to me while I was practically full from bread and the two sides. If this is what you call good customer service, then Sierra Vista Texas Roadhouse is perfect for you. The lack of training, management, customer service is a direct reflection on how the restaurant's manager runs the show. If she doesn't care, then why should the server or any other employee. I paid a solid $30 for this horrible experience when it was all said and done. No apologies, the manager didn't come to the table, the server didn't seem to care or be bothered by it. I've been to this location at least 10 times and my steak was only cooked the proper way once. Why do I keep going back? Not many choices in a small town and the sad part is the experiences are getting worse overtime not better. It's sad to see this happen and I cannot see myself going back again. It's not worth it at this point. The business is being ran into the ground and...
