A friend and I both ordered different dishes. Decently flavorful and good steamed rice. The bok choy in mine tasted spoiled. After eating four pieces with similar taste, I moved the remaining pieces to the edge of my plate and continued my meal. I noticed my friend had done the same. Definitely an "off" taste, we both agreed.
A server came by to check on us, and we both mentioned the condition of the bok choy.
At that point, the server became the definition of disingenuous.
Deflection #1: She ignored the message of the spoiled vegetable by correcting us on the name of the vegetable. I still think it was bok choy; she said napa cabbage.)
Then she segued to deflection #2: the fact that one of our selections had teriyaki sauce and the other, a white sauce, meanwhile ignoring the piles of uneaten bok choy pieces at the edges of our plates.
We didn't want a refund or replacement; we just wanted to warn the kitchen of the problem. There's no question the server understood the message we were trying to convey, but was instead disingenuous, using the smoke screen of minor humiliation and frustrating deflection instead of acknowledging...
Read moreThis restaurant was once a pleasant place for dinner with good food. My experience there tonight with my two children was one to forget. Our waitress was snippy, rude, and excessively hurried,,, even though there was only one other occupied table when we arrived, and one other waitress on duty. I've been treated kinder by Chinese Communist Party Interrogators at re-education camps. It wasn't just us either. When the man in the booth next to us asked what ingredients were in something she replied with "I have no idea!" The food was every bit as awful as the service. The spices did not at all hide that the chicken and beef tasted and felt days old. The Kung Pao chicken looked something like truck-stop corned-beef hash. Our kettle of green tea was room temperature. I was scared to ask for chopsticks and soy sauce for fear I might be dragged out back and beaten. My daughter had a Seinfeldian experience when she mistakenly asked for a soup type not on the menu: "No soup for you!" I hope the ownership reads these reviews and turns this place around for the sake of others who go there without reading the reviews first. I will never set foot...
Read moreHated it. I went here with my Dad and brother and the waiter was rude, snappy, and always in a rush. I asked if I could have shrimp soup, and she yelled "What, no!!!" I was forced to have eggdrop soup and was scared to ask for anything. The size of the eggrolls were so small, it was a sad excuse of an eggroll. Later on while my brother was eating his food he found the longest hair in his food.. I thought it was beef chowmein, not hair chowmein... The food was also very bland and the chicken tasted really old. The man next to us did not seem very happy either, he asked her the ingredients in the food and she just said "No idea." She walked away without even asking the cook what was in it.. When she gave us the check, she set it on a whole different table with no indication that it was ours. When we were done we went to look at it to see if it was ours and she gave us a very snappy "Its yours." I will defenitely not be coming here ever again.. This was a very traumatic experience, and my lawyer will be...
