I adore this area! I have lived here for over 20+++ years, and it has changed significantly. I am happy to see all these unique stores opening around the community. I have come down here for the weekly saturday farmer's market & local cultural events hosted here. Silver Spring is a diverse community, and it is shown through the art and the people there. Every weekend, you can look forward to a party around the city place mall. There is Tai chi, farmer's market & weekend events happening year round. I love my city and am proud to be a local here. Recently, our family went down to the annual Thanksgiving parade. It's local, free, and great for family and groups of friends. There is a beautiful mural to walk through from the silver spring metro station entering the city atmosphere, lots of resting areas with artwork. Perfect meeting place for friends and family to get acquainted with some of Maryland city life. Ethnic restaurants, libraries, comic book stores, game centers, movie theatres, ice skating rinks during winter, all your mall shopping needs, and the famous AFI and fillmore Music Center. Completely Unsanitary and Unacceptable Absolutely Disgusting!

I visited this mall few days back for shopping and was appalled to see a Mouse running freely around the small playground area for kids located by TJMaxx. This space, intended as a safe environment for children, has been utterly compromised by gross neglect and filth. The presence of a rodent in such a critical area is not only unsanitary but also poses a serious health hazard.

This blatant disregard for hygiene is disgraceful and clearly reflects a management team that is either grossly negligent or indifferent to the well-being of its visitors. Immediate action is required—proper pest control and strict sanitation measures must be implemented without delay.

Open mic/hip hop dance battle in downtown Silver Spring was cool. Young brothers were out there across from the Majestic movie theater, making coins and getting people hyped up. Social distancing was in place and there was enough seating outside for most people who were hanging out, feeling the vibes. Inside City Place Mall/Ellsworth Place, individual stores were adhering to social distancing protocols, even the nail salon (which was packed, but they were taking walk-ins). The Whole Foods has limited entry points into the store (which makes no sense to me why so many places are doing that during the Covid-19 pandemic), as well as several self- checkout registers that have replaced manned registers.
