2 People walk into an empty restaurant on a busy Saturday(today) and ordered food and sat down next to a window seat where one is a sofa chair because one of the persons is pregnant. A few minutes after they ordered and started their meal two more of their friends walk in with their two children and pulled up some chairs to sit with their friends. Moments later a server comes and rudely orders the 4 patrons and their 2 children sitting by the window to move from their seats because they have a policy that those seats are only for couples although the entire restaurant is empty. The patrons reluctantly oblige and move to another table the rude server selected for them in the empty restaurant. The patrons sat in their newly selected seats that was chosen by their rude server and proceeded to wait for the rude server to move their half eaten food to the new table. Moments later they call the server to ask where their food is that they were just eating and the rude server stated “I thought you were done” and goes to the back of the kitchen and brings the food back from God knows where expecting the patrons to continue eating the food as if multiple health codes were not violated within a 5 minute span including poor customer service. The manager or guy was then called to the table to discuss what happened and he apologizes without remedying the situation. The patrons paid for their half eaten food they never were given a chance to finish by the establishment and left the empty restaurant wondering “man, what horrible service that was. No wonder the restaurant is empty while every other restaurant on the block actually had patrons with a wait time of 20 plus minutes”
Suggestion 1: it’s a Thai restaurant in a very vibrant diverse community, so the server needs proper training on how to take orders without getting frustrated at patrons. Statements and questions like “what may I get you?” And “do you have any questions for me or how is your meal?” should be used very often when serving someone.
Suggestion 2: Being a female server you should understand when serving a family or persons with children, you try to be as accommodating as possible to meet their needs, especially when you have no customers in the restaurant.
Suggestion 3: Hire someone aka a manager who can remedy any issues instead of just apologizing. You should ask “is there anything I can do for you that will make your experience better etc..”
Running a restaurant is not like running an outdoor marketplace where you negotiate what kind of service you should give based on if you think you will get a tip or not. If you don’t feel like getting any business, all you have to do is flip the sign on your door to “closed” or you can allow it to close on its own by continuing to provide services such as the one the patrons experienced...
Read moreIf you are Latino, or other ethnicity please don’t go to this restaurant for you good, the service was awful and I very upset because I go a couple times before and I can give them 5 star, but now the servers and the manager at the night are racist and they doesn’t care if are a lot people watching you she scream you. Read moreI have to say that I am very disappointed because of my latest visit here tonight! Immediately after paying $40 for my meal and to-go order, and walking out of the establishment, one of the waitresses/hosts ran outside to me as I was about to walk down the big staircase in the town center and began frantically asking me if everything was okay because I opted to not leave a tip. Personally felt the service was okay since it was a slightly busy night with bigger parties currently seated and other patrons who walked in after me were waiting a while at the check-in desk to be acknowledged. I have definitely experienced better; but, the only reason I didn't tip was due to not having my main wallet; so, I didn't have enough cash and was using a pre-paid gift card. Despite her hawking me as I dug through my bag, I managed to find two dollars and gave it to her, and she had the nerve to ask me if I can put more on the card!
Safe to say in my almost 8 years of coming to this restaurant I have never felt so disrespected and disappointed in a restaurant's customer service in my life; and will definitely think really hard about ever coming here again! I work in customer service myself and have worked in restaurants and that experience tonight was absolutely unacceptable! Chasing a customer outside over a tip, especially considering I have been a longtime patron is beyond ridiculous no matter how though times are. I really didn't want to think it was a race thing but my goodness...
I'm only giving it 3 stars because the Pad See Ew & Spicy Breaded Shrimp has...
