(New Review) I visited Plato's Closet today, following a previous visit that did not meet my expectations (as seen in my Google review). As a person with a disability who relies on a service dog and public transportation, I was unable to return my clothes, hoping they could be donated instead. This time, I brought in clothes from Buckle, Aeropostale, American Eagle, and my boyfriend's name-brand clothing. However, upon retrieving my items, I was told that they were out of style. However, it became apparent that only the top clothes were unfolded, including my boyfriend's clothes, which were on top and in the same condition as when I left them. I believe that the majority of my clothes were not properly evaluated, and I did not receive a fair chance to sell them. I have included photos of how the clothes were left and what I believe was not looked at that should have been sold. I could be wrong, but I do feel this is worth mentioning for people who struggle to take this time to sell and are looking for any extra cash.
(Old Review) I was happy with what I was offered for selling my clothes, however, I have a mental disability and asked if they could donate any clothes they didn’t want to keep (I only had 1 box and it was used like new name brand clothing), because of my disability I had help bringing the box and couldn’t bring back anything with me because I was handling my service dog and taking bus transportation. The employees were extremely rude ( therefore I didn’t argue) and I tossed my clothes away outside in there trash can sadly. They trash any clothes left behind and I felt discriminated against my mental disability, and wish there was better communication and regards towards customers and better treatment with left...
Read moreThis staff is a clique of girls with snotty attitudes. Turning their nose up with a cold communication demeanor in my opinion. I tried so hard to make it a fun experience for my daughter and the staff by keeping the air light and funny to no avail! It ended up being very blatantly obvious that the staff were perturbed at my attempts. Then after a short time a clerk came to tell me that there was a bug on the counter when they were going through my clothes so they weren't gonna take anything. They Proceeded to advise me with sneered looks from all the staff , to wash things before I bring stuff in next time. I was appalled ro very accused! They had so many other people's things they were going through simultaneously ... I felt singled out and judged. I took all of my things back and went to my car where I phoned the management. Although I felt more at ease after the talk with management, I still get the treatment to this day everytime I come into the store. I've never been treated so "filthy"!! Gonna try one more time today so...
