Olde Towne Tavern — Restaurant in Slidell

Went there last night and was told I couldn't come in with shades even after I showed my eyes. I've had 5 eyelid surgeries and have to wear shades around certain lights. I was told by security and I asked to speak with the owner or manager on duty. He told me there was none, which is false! People of color be advised, I feel this establishment is not welcome to people of color. The disrespect cannot be overlooked and I spent great money with the business to the left called margaritas and beer. I'm also an out of town visitor and there were literally 4 people of color out of 75 so I know why the security was being so RACIST. *EDIT THE DAY AFTER...As people can see from the owners response, don't go to this bar, definitely go the bar next door. Unprofessional & RACIST owners...

The drinks are good and the service is pretty fast even when they're busy. After just a few times there I was and am treated like family. They remember what I drink and check on you regularly. There's a beer pong tournament every Tues night and karaoke on Thurs night. Drink specials on the black board every day. There are 2 pool tables and I believe 2 dart boards. OTT is very inclusive! Everyone seems to be welcome and treated with respect. They do ID at the door- which I like. I do not want to hang out at a bar with children. You can bar hop and bring your plastic cups in. You cannot bring in Styrofoam. Men aren't allowed in in plain white it's or sagging pants. I love that there's always security but ive never had any...

Allen, it is quite odd that you say this, and the owner acts like this! My buddy just went through the same thing, the worse part is, it was New Year’s Eve and everyone was partying and he got singled out, he was the only black man in the bar!!! And worse, the security was calling him racial slurs and yelling in his ear the entire time he was trying to close out his tab. So I don’t know where the owner gets off by saying he is around black people?! Good thing there is a court date because of what this escalated to.
