I have eaten here at least 3/4 times. Pizza is good. Service always so-so. Tonite was a horrible experience- I have never felt more disrespected by a restaurant and the staff in my life. My husband ordered spaghetti and meatball dinner; I ordered the special - $8 pizza. The place was not busy when we arrived. However, 15 min after ordering our drinks, our waitress still hadn’t brought them. I tried ‘ scouting’ her out, and when I finally found her , she said -‘oh, I forgot.,. That’s why I’m running… to the bar, to get them’. OK. No big deal…. So..,.we thought. My husband FINALLY got his meal about 30 minutes after ordering… (we did not get appetizers). He was enjoying his meal but unfortunately, I was not served our pizza…however, all the patrons that had arrived at least 15-20 minutes after us were !! We called waitress over- “ oh, dont yell at me…I put the order in.. not my fault it has not come out”. OK - but why has everyone who arrived after us receiving their food?. “I’m getting the manager”she said..,,. and a young lady did come and told us she’d get us our pizza.,,no explanation, no apology…. and 10 m later she comes back w a pizza in a box. ???? I was planning on having dinner w my husband; not bringing a box of pizza home. My husband got upset and asked the manager ’ - what are you doing? We wanted to share the pizza here’. This led to a woman seated closely by to shout at us- “don’t yell at my daughter “. I was in shock. All I wanted was a pizza. One of her table mates yelled at me - “hey! old lady You better shut up. “ I may be a lotta things, but I ain’t no old lady. Obviously, this place provides primary service and attention to their family and friends. We were just innocent patrons.Basically, we were asked to leave because, well, I do not know why. I admit, I was so angry, I tossed the pizza in a box to the ground once outside. I was fearful the staff may have tampered w it, We left and as we did , were met by alleged managers. I say alleged because the male dude seemed to want to sincerely work things out but the female blonde who seemed vey inexperienced was just like— oh well, what can we do? Really?THAT was NOT an apology. No one said - WE ARE SORRY FOR THE WAY YOU WERE TREATED. No, it was about blame - told us we caused a ‘commotion’ and that’s why the 1st Mngr brought the pizza out in a box so we could leave; and my husband and I were at fault for causing a scene. The 2nd female Mngr basically told us- our fault cuz Weds we shouldn’t expect good service. This is very sad and upsetting to me as we like to support local businesses…. I just dont know how a business like this can allow kids, w no experience in customer service, . to run their place. I’m sure the parties involved will put a different spin on this, but what I have shared is what occurred. And...
Read moreMy wife and I just had the worst dinning experience of our lives. We went to this restaurant here in Slidell called Old Town Pizza. The food is very good there and we have been there several times. Tonight, we sat down and ordered drinks. Me a vodka my wife a wine. After sitting there for about ten minutes, we flagged the waitress and she replied, oh I forgot. She brings our drinks and takes our orders. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs and she ordered pizza. The waitress kept telling us our pizza should be out any minute. Finally after an unusual amount of time the spaghetti and meatballs came out. Expecting the pizza to be shortly behind my plate I began eating. I was practically finished when we still had no pizza. We asked the waitress ti get the manager. The manager who looked like another waitress came over and told us on Wednesday nights it could take an hour to get a pizza. We pointed out tables that had been seat less than 15 minutes that had already gotten their pizza. She went to the kitchen and came back 10 minutes later with the pizza in a box. We the told her we did not want the pizza to go but to eat it there. Then the commotion started and this manager said ok I’m calling the police. A male kid, manager agreed to step outside so we could talk. Surprisingly, the first female manager came from a club across the street with another girl claiming to be the manager. All in all we left without my wife even getting to eat. The shouting and blaming they directed at us, 2 senior citizens was unbelievable. Won’t be there again and warn everyone to seriously consider...
Read moreI'm going to feel really bad for typing this out, but my recent experience here was so bizarre, so please hear me out.
The food was good, I have very few complaints there. Good sauce quality, good fries, good cheese. The only thing I personally didn't like was the oil they fried the cheese sticks and the chicken in. The crust tasted... Off. Food and atmosphere were fine, my issue lies in the service itself.
More specifically, the service after we had left. That sounds weird, right? Hold on-
Me and my party of 4 people come to eat. We ate, payed our tab, and left. I payed with card, and tipped with cash. I left a $5 on the center of the table.
My party left after packing up our food, walked around downtown, and came back to walk past the store. As we were passing, a tall gentleman with dark hair and glasses came out of the restaurant and asked us "Excuse me folks, was there anything wrong with your service today?"
We were confused, and all answered some variation of "No." before he continued.
He said "No tip?" and we informed him that we left a cash tip on the table because the card did not provide an option to tip. As soon as we informed him about the cash tip he said "There was no tip on the table." before walking away.
I couldn't recognize if he was being passive aggressive or not, but it did feel VERY off and unprofessional to chase down a group of customers and confront them after hours. I do not know what happened to the $5 I left behind, but maybe the cameras...
