As a Slidell, LA native I visited this place a few times and I always found it nice way to kill some time and learn some history of my hometown. The guides are local, knowledgeable, and friendly. As you walk through the museum you can find Civil War artifacts, period clothing as well as Mardi Gras costumes over the yrs, and tons of fact about Slidell. Read moreWhat a cute little place! First floor is dedicated to the history of the area, second floor is a Mardi Gras museum. My favorite part of the tour was all the stories that were told. How the town got its name, the streets named. The guy doing the tour was well informed and was constantly learning new things. He told great stories of the area.
