Food Lion — Local services in Smithville

With the high inflation, pricing of goods is critical in making better choices for your family. This is a sweet little store, currently well-stocked, but pricing was NOT up to date. Multiple items were much higher when getting to the cashier. They did happily adjust prices to the shelf tag price when I mentioned specific item price differences. But, unless you're gonna take pictures of every shelf tag, you'll end up paying even more. You'll often find marked-down meat, probably because it's just too expensive for most people and it doesn't sell at the higher prices. It's a good place to shop for meat deals on the morning. In the last few months at our local Food Lion in Smithville TN which WAS my Favorite Store! the service of the staff (mostly new) is very dismal and unhelpful. Biggest problem is despite the loss of many senior staff, those remaining are degrading to the level of new employees instead of helping them better themselves. Management here in Smithville TN just doesn't care anymore. I'm in the parking lot now with my bad back leaving empty handed. I asked 3 staff including the manager where they moved a section of items (trasbags) to and the answer was "I don't have a clue " so I can barely walk and go find it myself ? Shame on...

I certainly love Food Lion the best of all the grocery stores in town. They have gotten a much bigger collection or variety of gluten free options, however the dairy free items could use some tweeking. It is certainly the easiest to get in and out of, not too big or too small either and very convenient, for us anyways. And the staff are all so friendly and helpful. Love it! P.s. Just needing a few more items, I have suggested, before giving that 5th ⭐️. 👍🏼😊 Edit! 5th star given! If there is ever something you want or need that they do not have, just speak with the manager and she will have it...
