I usually purchase my trees from Home Depot, however this year I wanted to get a tree from a company that specializes in trees or that had tree farms. Therefore, I conducted research and found Cooks on there internet. The reviews were good and from the photos the trees looked great. When I arrived I found an 8-1/2 ft tree that I paid $145.00. They didn’t accept cards, however they had an ATM that I was able to use to get cash. Two days after having the tree up in my home, I began to smell a foul oder in my living room where the tree is set-up (FYI: I DON’T OWN PETS) The smell was driving me crazy, so I went as far as renting a rug doctor to clean the antique rug in my living room just in case. The next day, when I arrived home from work, the oder was still there. I went online to see if there was such a thing as trees smelling like “cat” urine and apparently there is. More specifically “Spruce” trees. After trying all the things that were recommended for me to do online to eliminate the oder, I ultimately ended calling Cooks to confirm if I had purchased a Spruce tree, so that I may inquire or get suggestions on how to get the oder out of the tree. The man that I spoke with said no, they don’t sale Spruce and he’s been in the tree selling business over 15 years and has NEVER heard of trees smelling like urine. He was immediately on the defense, patronzing and became argumentative. I even expressed to him that I wasn’t looking for a refund or anything, just suggestions and or recommendations on how to remove the oder. He told me to bring the tree back up, even after I explained to him I had to rent a pick-up truck from a friend (Single woman problems). He then suggested that it could have probably been the truck the tree was transported in (2018 Ford F-150). He was so unprofessional and RUDE!!!!! Being a 15 year tree expert, I would have thought he would’ve provided some advice on how to better care for the tree or at least not have been so accusatory or better yet not so RUDE!!! I’ve only been purchasing real Christmas trees for the past 3yrs and this is the only time I’ve experienced this. I would have sincerely gave more stars if there wasn’t such a lack of UNPROFESSIONALISM in the customer service. $145.00...
Read moreI have been buying my Christmas trees from Ronnie Cook for the last decade and every year my wife and I are one of the first to get a tree so we can get our pick of the litter. We are never disappointed! Ronnie knows us well now, and when we show up, he already has 4 or 5 trees that he especially picked out for us to choose from because he knows what we are looking for in a Christmas tree. It's a family run business and his wife and children all help out and hand make most of the items they sell. After going to his lot for so long, whenever I see trees at grocery stores and other tree lots, the quality of trees are so much less than the ones at Cook's Christmas Trees. He will not buy trees if they have even a hint of disease or any other ailment that would make the tree low quality. When you go, ask for Ronnie, he knows his trees and he may have the tree you're looking for that isn't...
Read moreFair prices, beautiful trees. We were cheerfully greeted upon arrival, shown around, and we never felt pressured. The gentleman that walked us through told us about the different types of trees and explained everything in detail. The owner was super nice, funny and personable. He told us our tree was from Virginia, which was cool to find out. No one ever tells you where they come from!! We used to shop at Vickie’s every year on 120 and since she retired we have struggled every year to find a new place. Our search is over; Cook’s has our business from now on. This was a great experience with some really nice people and we feel very lucky to have found this place. Attached is a picture of our Fraser Fir- not quite done decorating, but wanted to share anyway. Merry Christmas and God bless the...
