So I emailed them because I was in a shelter for over a year with my daughter and multiple friends of mine who were at the same shelter had their whole homes furnished by this company. I only asked for a desk because I was starting a work from home position and I had no table/ desk to work from. I received an email reply telling me that they would not give me anything and they referred me to the Cleveland Furniture Bank (I had already used the bank and had paid $180 to furnish my apt because I lost everything when I couldn't pay my storage fees) I am so very disappointed that I was brushed off and given NO reason why they refused to help me. I filled out all the information on their website, included pictures and waited to hear back. Nothing. Not a call, email or text. The items I had were in great condition and were on their list of approved items. I was moving, so I needed to hear back within a few weeks. Because of this experience, I cannot recommend this charity. You would be better off looking elsewhere to...
Read moreRecently came across this organization that helps individuals re-enter life. I've donated many items. The associates are very helpful, sincere and grateful. I like the organization because what you donate, is given to receipients to start a new life at no charge. Receipients do not just come in and shop, items are specifically chosen for their needs, style preference, etc. by associates of Humble Design. humbledesign.org is the web-site. I do not mind donating to resale shops, which I do, but I also shop them and I am disturbed when I hear shoppers talk that they buy all these donated iems and resale them on ebay...
