A nice hotel, with a good breakfast. However, the service at this place is so atrocious that it earns a 1-star from me. The front desk associate who was manning the desk was extremely rude and unprofessional. He was hanging out at the front desk with a friend of his when I arrived and they were quite rambunctious, slow to check us in, and distracted by each other while we were trying to get to our room. Not a good start.
At one point, my wife needed band- aids. So I asked the person at the front desk for some band aids. They refused to deliver anything to our room. I believe that delivering sheets/spare necessities to the room is a pretty standard practice amongst hotels. This one will not do it. When I went to the front desk to get the band aids, the front desk worker handed them to me. I asked for a larger size of band aid, and his response to my needing the additional size of band aid was a very loud sigh, as he shook his head and walked back to the office to retrieve the band aid for me.
Needing simple first-aid materials does not seem like an outlandish request, however this individual was clearly upset that we needed band aids and that this would require him to do his job. Very disappointing and unprofessional behavior.
My final straw with this place was when I spilled some water on my bed. Nobody wants to sleep in a soggy bed, so I asked the front desk (same employee) if they could make sure that my sheets get changed before I got back from the event I was attending that night. This, again, is not an uncommon practice or a strange request. The front desk associate informed me that the hotel will not change sheets unless we had been there for seven days or more, but that if I wanted it still it would be a $25.00 service charge.
This is an insane policy. I understand that hotels donât change sheets every day, but if a customer who is paying good money to stay in the establishment requests a sheet change in order to make full use of the room that they are paying for, then the hotel needs to accommodate that request. I donât know if the front desk employee simply didnât like me and made up that request due to the band-aid incident, or if it actually is the hotels policy. Regardless, I tried to contact the manager, and she did not respond.
Overall itâs a fine hotel, but the service that I experienced while staying there was brutish, short, thoughtless, and has earned a 1-star rating from me. I hope that the cost of fetching band-aids and changing a sheet set is worth the...
Read moreThis hotel sits in a convenient area to Cleveland with access to major highways, restaurants, and it's a fairly new establishment. Amenities include an indoor pool, a bar, a BBQ area, and breakfast included in your stay. Please note, I had some disappointments during my stay here that were reflected in my original review. Immediately after posting, I was contacted by hotel management to discuss these issues, which I do appreciate. Usually I would discuss them in person with staff but do to time restraints at check out, I could not. The "bar" at the hotel, the night I checked in, had only 4 stools. According to management, there are usually 12 stools. No one is sure what happened to the others that evening but apparently this issue has now been resolved. Selection is limited but there are restaurants with fully stocked bars within walking distance of the hotel as well. As for a continental breakfast, that was just sad. The eggs on Sunday morning just looked unlike any scrambled eggs we've previously had at a TownePlace Suites. They were very runny at one end of the pan and appeared unmixed at the other. Management informed me after reading my review they would look into this issue as they do not use powdered eggs, which is what we assumed. There was to be breakfast meat of some type, sausage or bacon, of which there was none. Lastly, and probably my husband's favorite, the orange juice offered for breakfast was spoiled. Both he and another gentleman spit it out immediately after trying it. Hotel management did apologize profusely for our disappointment, which is appreciated. They also reported that they did have some issues with guests during our stay of taking food to rooms to eat later, which they are looking to amend. Our room however was very clean, very neat, and comfortable. Linens were changed daily if wanted or you could choose to reuse them by hanging then back up. I appreciate the fact that management takes concern when things don't work out like a guest feels they should. The manager here saw my review and contacted me within 5 minutes of my posting. They appear to care what their customers think and I whole heatedly believe if I had had the time to discuss our issues while there, amends would have been made...
Read moreThis was an overnight couples stay to relax and get some rest. The check in process went smoothly. I had requested late checkout, and it was honored with no hesitation. The lobby is one of the best layouts that Iâve seen yet! Itâs very spacious with ample seating for breakfast. The fitness room is 24 hours. I will utilize it on our next visit, as well as the swimming pool. The King Suite has stainless steel appliances-2 burner stove, dishwasher, full size refrigerator, and microwave. A Keurig is also in the Suite, which is more sanitary than a regular coffee maker. The furniture was comfortable, the floors were clean, the bed and pillows were comfortable, the closets were great for organizing your clothes, the bathroom was very spacious and we fell in love with the massager feature on the shower head! The water temperature remained hot from check in to checkout. Some hotels water is warm by morning. Also, the water pressure for the massage feature had the perfect force and pressure to relax your body. Again, we fell in love with that feature! Another feature is on the television in the room when you first arrive! I donât want to spoil it for first time guests, but Iâve never seen that feature at any other hotel Iâve stayed at before, and it was a nice added touch to the stay! Donât turn your television off or turn the channel until you figure it out! Actually, I thought that housekeeping forgot to turn the television off, but it wasnât long before I saw why the television was on! Breakfast was good, and I give two kudos for offering turkey sausage because I donât eat pork, but pork was also an option. There was waffles, eggs, fruit, oatmeal, potatoes, juice, milk, coffee etc. Overall, the hotel is still new, and it still smells new! The hotel is clean, and the staff is friendly and professional, and the suite, as well as the bed and pillows were very comfortable! I would recommend this hotel for...
