ALDI — Local services in Somerset Township

I'm not a big fan of Aldi's. I prefer a place with bags, free carts, and premium products....but. Sometimes you just want cheap. Not everything is a good deal but most are. I have family and friends that day Aldi's brand is exactly the same as a national brand. I couldn't disagree more. A district mngr I know says "we use the exact recipe of a brand product, so if you don't like oursyou don't like theirs". Wrong!! I can give you a recipe to make and you can use the same ingredients and mine is still better. Do you cook it with the same care? Did you use local ripe ingredients? Was your cheese made by the same dairies as the ones I used. Or did you use imported produce that was picked green? Cheese made in a factory? Cooked in mass by a multi product production plant? Some items pass the taste test. Their version of some snacks and cheese whiz is close Some are watery tasteless and cheap tasting. In general you get what you pay for. I stopped for a bag of bay scallops for a seafood lasagna. A grabbed a few other things like the cheese whiz till i found out they were out of scallops. It was not worth the wait for the 2 checkouts during a very busy store and bag my own stuff in a box pulled from a shelf. I restocked my stuff and left. We stopped there last evening (Saturday, December 14,2024). We got there at 7:45pm. All we needed were eggs. The doors were locked. The store was to be open until 8pm. There were people inside. Another gentleman walked up behind us and was upset too. It’s bad enough they close earlier now, but they even lock the doors way before they are to be closed. Finally a rude girl came out the exit door and told us they close in 15 minutes, she will let us in but we have to get what we want and get out…… it’s sad that this young generation feels entitled and don’t think they need to work….. to the little ignorant girl, it is your Customers that keep the business open. We are the reason you get your paycheck. I have had it this week with rude and ignorant people. Aldi’s, Maybe you Should supervise the people you hire. If this young ignorant girl Is a manager, you should really review the credentials...

I like several products at this Store. They are on average 20% cheaper then Wal-Mart Great Value cheese. The quality of the cheese as good or better. The other staples I buy at Aldi's store I find to be great quality and priced reasonably. I realize chicken flocks had been adversely by a chicken health issue. Enough time has lapsed to resupply the laying houses. Eggs are still running nearly 4 dollars after being under a dollar at Aldi stores. I don't blame the but rather Mr. Biden's administration lack of leadership to stave off supply issues a strong Secretary of Agricultural would understand their role in getting ahead of...
