Marshalls — Local services in Somerset Township

If I could give negative reviews I would. I drove the entire way from Johnstown to Somerset to exchange an outfit my aunt just got my daughter for her birthday. It has all the tags on it hasn't even been worn. I checked the stores return policies before even going and it said right on a sign in front of the store "merchandise without a receipt can be exchanged or in store credit can be given" myself and my daughter went in with her outfit to exchange it for a bigger size. When I got up to the counter JANET took one look at me and assumed I took it from the shelf and told me she couldn't help me without a receipt. I told her that she could she just didn't want to. I went back out and told my husband what happened. He took the outfit back in himself and went up to Janet and asked her why she couldn't exchange it or give us store credit she then stated because she didn't know if it was from the store or not but then said she knows it's from the store and then said if we can find the exact outfit we can exchange(which is what we wanted to do to begin with) then she stated she couldn't do anything without the receipt. When my husband asked her about the policy her exact words were "I didn't write that" so instead of upholding the stores policies she just assumed we were thieves trying to score a whole $20. Janet made sure to tell us she couldn't uphold the stores policies because she didn't write them. This is the first time myself or my husband have ever been to Marshalls and I can tell you I will never be going back. The way I was treated just because of how I looked and the way Janet acted towards me was disgusting. I will be telling all my friends and family to not purchase myself or my daughter's clothes from there anymore....
