Went there today for a few items including lunch meats and cheese from the deli counter. Whoever was working in the deli today (6/22/25) at around 3pm was rude, condescending, and either isnât intelligent enough or doesnât care to deliver what the customer asks for and needs. Asked for turkey and ham and American cheese all sliced thin, 1.5lbs of each. After slicing the first item, I looked and it was sliced very thick. I politely told him that I asked for thin sliced and this was sliced pretty thick, his response was âwell thatâs as thin as Iâm slicing it todayâ. I repeated and emphasized I wanted the ham and cheese both sliced thin and he just rolled his eyes at me and sliced the ham even thicker than the turkey and the cheese even thicker than the ham out of spite. While that âgentlemanâ ( and I use that term sarcastically) was helping me, the next customer asked what I can only assume was the manager for help because he had been waiting over 10 minutes with at least 4 people behind him. She looked at him and rudely said that no she will not help him because sheâs busy. It wasnât until a second then a third customer spoke up, that she finally and reluctantly helped as she also rolled her eyes and decided to start doing her job. The sad thing is that this was not the first, the second, or even the third time Iâve received this rude treatment from the deli department but it will be the last. Management really needs to hire better staff. Preferably people who arenât rude, stupid or sanctimonious; people who actually LISTEN to their customers and donât give attitude. Until that time, Iâll shop at Gerrityâs. They may have slightly higher prices but at least the employees there are respectful. Do better Weis, you owe it to...
Read moreI've been going to this Weis for years. The other day I was in an aisle, shopping and having a conversation with the person I was with, when an employee that was bringing a pallet jack full of product thru the aisle butted in as they were walked by and said "I'm not trying to get between you two, but if you are going to have a fight, please take it outside." When I stated that it was out of line to say that, they went on to say "your voices were getting loud". I had other things to deal with, and was not trying to make a scene, or I would have asked to see their manager, so I disengaged and they walked away. I think this was highly unprofessional. If your employee believe that we were indeed having a fight, I would totally understand that they ask us to leave. We were obviously not having a fight, or they would have. Instead, they chose to Involve themselves in my personal matters, which was simply a conversation between two loud speaking people who felt comfortable in your store due to years of shopping. I find the actions of your employee to be apprehensive and inappropriate.. I intend to speak to some form of management at this store about this, and I will continue to share my experience at this store in person untill this comes to a resolution. I would not like the employee to be fired, as I am sure they are having their own personal issues at home for them to lash out at me like this, but I would like an apology of some sort. I will be contacting the store as my next course of action. Should this be resolved, I will gladly bring this to a 5 star rating. The only reason this is not one star is the years of happy shopping I have had...
Read moreIt's hard to review a food store. The supply has been low during Covid but that is everywhere. The store is clean, well lit but I have a few issues. They have removed about half of the checkouts and replaced them with self checkouts. I don't mind using them in a pinch but would rather receive customer service as I pay the same whether I do all the work or an employee does. I have seen up to four people standing at the end of the self check area chatting. Here I am, an untrained checker, using Weis systems that they train their people on but I know nothing, working for Weis without a reduction in price to me. Really, spend an extra $20 an hour and get a few more checkers, PLEASE. Also, I am handicapped. I park up close, hang my placard and shop. When I get back with my cart, I unload all my bags and then guess where the SELF cart return area is? Half way down the parking lot. I guess disabled means different things to different people. I have to leave my cart right there and hope it doesn't roll...
